This creation is paying homage to the greatest Italian writer of all time, Dante Alighieri and his masterpiece, The Divine Comedy.
Here we are in the third part of The Divine Comedy: The Hell.
At the entry of the Hell, Dante meets Charon, who, with his boat, carrying the souls from one side to another of the river Acheron.
But the navigation is difficult, due to the presence in the river of the Ignavi; souls destined to remain forever in limbo, because in life is not operated nor good, nor evil, by their choice of cowardice...
Abandon all hope, ye who enter here...

"Abandon hope all ye who enter here." These words have truly little meaning to most. But this captures the quote almost perfectly. Excellently done! |

I missed this back when you released it! This is very cool, I love the dark feel to it, and it defintiely brings me back to when I read the book. Like all of your builds, there is such a crisp feel to it as if it truly is art and not a bunch of blocks stuck together! Awesome work! |

Hi! I saw where you were planning a Mocathalon team, and I was wondering if there were any openings left? I would love to compete with you. :)
Well, Hi Annie, I saw your message only now.
For the MocAthalon,i'd be very happy that you participate in my team ... For me it's ok., I must ask the other AFOL, if he still wants to participate, and if he is ok. I just sent an e-mail to him .... I'll be able to say. Bye Annie... Ric

The build is top notch as always! I don't know much about it, but is this related to Dante's Inferno? I think that's what it's called.
Yes, my friend, is Dante's Inferno... Thanks a lot |

Absolutely beautiful! This needs to be on a display with velvet ropes around it. The stillness and depth of this piece is outstanding. Its one of those builds that evoke emotion and inner thought rather than lets look at what pieces he used to make it. The way he holds the soul is perfect, it delivers the feeling he is protecting it, like how someone would hold a baby. The souls in the river show that they want relief from their purgatoy, great placement on those. This is an amazing work of art. ~cheers

The concept of STAGING is brilliantly demonstrated here. Many times, the artistic nature of a build leaps into the spotlight, and we often label this "Style". I'm prone to using the word a great deal; I think many MOC-ists are Artists, and it's hard not to see things in those terms. But as this Dio shows, PLACEMENT, brickchoice and color selection all play as big a part as some of the shapesculpting we notice so readily. In a word: Splendid. Very, very, well done - here is evidence, if it were ever needed, that Lego = Art = Lego. And so on. =) Cheers!
