Less Massive Yellow Lorry
Gotta do something with all those yellow plates...
About this creation
You know how it is. You're doing something difficult (in this case a Jaguar D-Type) and you become easily distracted... This 12-wide articulated lorry is a fine way to reduce my yellow pile. It's built in the same way as my old big red one but it's half the size. Still 80 studs long in total.

Here it is with Old Red, whose trailer and box bit the dust for other projects....

Another mosaic logo, half the size - a necessary colour simplification makes it look like the 1960s version...

The same system to open the rear doors - twist the gear and catches release at top and bottom.

Like so.... tidier looking inside, too. Cab's doors open as well; I'd show you inside that but there's not much to see...

Ready for use as a store for Maxifig parts...

Seperates into three parts as before. The box sits on six lugs on the trailer to locate it securely. The trailer has a spring-loaded lowering front stand.

The cab has working steering, controllable from the cab or the exhaust - spot the not very cunningly concealed gears...

All very nice, now back to the Jag. Maybe.

Quoting MortalSwordsman . Hi Nick, I have responded in the group. I suppose these wheels are too small. I love this creation, I love all your creations hahaha. Functionality and playability is really important to me. I want to play with this. hahahah. Talk soon buddy ;)
Hi Joe. You're right - these wheels would be too small, this is only 12 wide.

Quoting Marc dZ I like the way you're having some rest with your yellow bricks... So the "Jaguar" should be a master piece! I hope you still have plenty of briks to store. A very nice Truck BTW, I'm very fond of the scale, the design and the playability you still manage to keep. Very well-balanced!! ;)
Thanks Marc. Still got plenty of yellow bricks - I may delve into them again before the Jaguar's finished...

led lolly lellow lolly??? Hi Nick. Love it. The HOG and rear lock is very clever (as usual) and the whole model looks like great fun to play with (as usual). I love those old school wheels and the bright lellow yego. Have you received my email? talk soon :)

Lovely job. I like the locking mechanism on the trailer door, along with all the rest. Are you going to show us what you built as a distraction from the distraction. (this is going to end up as an endless set of nested trucks, like those Russian dolls, isn't it?)

Fantastic job Nick. I have a soft spot for trucks (in fact most things with wheels) and this has certainly hit the mark. Great logo on the side and the steering is well done (I like the gears showing). Looking forward to seeing the Jag!

That's a cool lorry, Nick. I like the Technic details, like the door mechanism, the HOG steering and the classic Technic wheels. And the mosaic is very accurate, well done. My favourite detail is the old school 1x2 brick with the classic LEGO logo. I must have a yellow and a blue one of these somewhere in my old boxes ... A great way to make a container for LEGO parts :-))

What a lovely old-school creation. I actually think this is better looking than the big red version (lol to DeT's comment below by the way!). I've got to do something to use up all my Technic wheels, something like this would do that... Anyways, 5/5. Not as big or impressive as some of your other stuff, but it's no less good
