"Even one Azalgor crystal can be dangerous, but taking on a whole hive? You're mad. All of you are mad!"
About this creation
Azalgor Crystals are a highly dangerous "life form", although there has been much dispute as to whether or not they are truly alive, or are some sort of elemental construct. They never existed in the Matoran Universe, but the caves and caverns of Bara Magna were rife with them. The largest colony (and the only one to be mentioned in the storyline) was under Drachen's Palace in the Vaults, and was the main deterrent to would-be thieves of the artefacts therein.
The most frequently seen Azalgor entities are the small, scuttling variety, although the larger, hovering tentacled crystals are also seen very often. The crystal, it has been discovered, has several wierd properties, but killing any azalgor prompts the hive nearby to swarm, so procuring it is tricky. Those crystals that have been dissected are shown to have mechanical components stabilising them that are similar in design to implants the glatorian posess themselves, leading to the theory that they are one of the experiments of the Great Beings.
The most disturbing aspect of the crystals is to drain elemental powers from beings and artefacts. Unrestrained use of any powers agitates a hive and causes it to swarm, or, worse, conglomerate into a storeys-high leviathan of robotic crystal which begins to absorb the energy of The Weave near it. One of the first actions of the KoSM on Spherus Magna was to exterminate the azalgor hives, but centuries later they were still not succeeding.
-Azalgors were invented by JohnTheImaginative in the first BRC stories. They're purple, but obviously no purple crystalline parts exist in large enough quantities for me to make them. The Quaza pieces from the HF3.0 line were perfect for what I had in mind, though, especially with some of Fangz's parts having that silver print on them.
Also, a tablescrap gun I made based around a HF1.0 shin and Hakann's gun, and here's a slightly revamped Mezzinus holding it. :)
Hooray for tablesceraps! I apologise if my activity has slowed to a crawl recently. My build styly has gotten such that I tend to spend more time on individual MOCs than churning out a few quickly. I also have A-levels to contend with, which absorb a lot of time. I'm not going to lie, though. Most of my activity is gone because I got both Skyrim and Minecraft recently. :P
Ah, cool! I like the tablescrap gun, I've been building Bionicle guns for my HF guys recently. As for the crystals, very cool use of the Fangz parts and the Rocka XL spikes. One thing could make them better, though. USE MORE TUBES, and make the huge Azalgor crystal thing you were talking about. Other than that, Great MOC, Gringat!
I would definitely make that gun for Zupharo, but he already uses those shins! D: And I don't blame you, defeating the Ender Dragon and getting dragon armor are my goals now. .

heh. i have the same minecraft/skyrim. good luck. oh, and nice moc. i could never bring myself to read the BRC storylines. :P
I don't blame you. They're not the most coherent of things. XD

Very nice! The two colours blend well with eachother! Also nice tablescrap gun :D Very cool ;) By the way you said Quaza Spikes were perfect for what you had in mind, but I see none. Did you mean the silver Rocka spikes thingys? Anyway sorry to be picky :P Great stuff ;)
I didn't say spikes. The trans-orange armour pieces were used to represent extra Quaza on Fangz though weren't they?
Quoting RICtendo ther Metagross
Ingenious design! And I'm surprised that you haven't replaced Mezzinus' balljoints on his legs with some WD red ones.

possibly post instrusctions for the Red guy(forgot his name sorry) and the gun?
The crystals are interesting....me being a HUGE bionicle fan myself I don't like to title the MOCs hero factory.
