2011 MIT round 4:bourbonbrick vs Popcorn
"After the canary died the mine was shut down, but that wasn't the end, only the begining."Said the old hobo taking a swig from his wine bottle.
About this creation
My entry to 2011 MIT round 4 against Popcornin
The last word: Build us a story, any story you wish but here’s the catch...
The first line of your story MUST read:
"After the canary died the mine was shut down, but that wasn't the end, only the begining."
And the last line of your story MUST read:
"And to this day, I still cry whenever I see a mocha frappuccino."

"I was devastated,"he continued"Only the day before the whole team had their photo taken together." The old man pulled two old crumpled black and white photos out.

"the canary was an important part of the mine, chirping whenever gas was present."He said.

"As I stood at the bottom of the hill that day I couldn't help wondering what had killed him."

"As luck would have it I found out later that day when the town newspaper reported that the canary had died from mocha frappuccino poisoning, he had been an avid fan of caffeinated drinks and someone must have wanted the mine closed."He explained with tears in his eyes.He finished the story with the sad sentence "And to this day, I still cry whenever I see a mocha frappuccino."

Sorry to hear that you didn't make it, dude. I have always felt bad putting everyone that I've faced up against out. Well I hope you have better luck next year and just pray that you don't face me. lol.:P

Your build looks very clean and nice, the story was good, however, I feel that Popcorn's had a little more to it that I liked. I'm sorry, but my vote is going to have to go to your opponent's entry.

Great stuff! Funny too. That black and white pic of the close up of the canary is priceless.

This was a hard one for me to judge, Popcorn beat you on story, but eventhough some of your pics are blurry, I can actually see build on yours, so...by a wisker, you have my vote.

I like the story with the "flashback" and the black and white picture of the mine was a nice touch, however I think Popcorn brought a bit more to the table on this round. The build along with story played a role in the judging for this round and I was hoping for a bit more to your story. My vote goes to Popcorn.

Pretty good! I like how you did those curtain things above the window. The build is good, but the story was really too short in my opinion. The pictures are really nicely done. Great job and I think that either one of our entries could win!
