Well, we had a lot of luck on Venus... we always had a ball on Mars
About this creation

Originally started out as a mobile science lab/rover thing. Somehow the body morphed into a pickup truck as I was building.

There was going to be a diorama to go with this, but I lost interest. The backstory would have been some kind of bootlegger souping up an old CS vehicle into a rumrunner to deliver goods to a gray-market depot, most likely run by squidmen.

One of the black power core things dates back to a long-abandoned work from 2006 or '07. I always liked it and kept one intact, glad I finally worked the design into a MOC.

The thing sits in a path the dog has worn in the yard running back and forth after a ball... I thought it might look like a dirt road. But I just couldn't get the look to work in pictures, and in the closeups you can't tell at all. It just looks like it's sitting in a mud patch.

Dunno, could be chlorine based. But other than that, vents on cars are usually for cooling the engine, so any atmosphere at all would do the trick. Except space-air, of course, because space-air is the world's greatest insulator. As for the truck itself; like the windscreen, those power cells are rather nice too, and it might've helped if you'd tiled the interior floor as well to maintain the studless look, but p'raps you were going for an industrial non-slip surface look, which wouldn't be out of the question on a space-truck. Speaking of which: I notice there's no airlock in there. So less "space truck" and more "spacey looking truck", I suppose?

Quoting J0N0TR0N1C SYSTEMS Is the netting pure, or did you fashion it yourself?
It's Lego netting, originally from the first pirate sets I believe.
Quoting Morthen P wow, nice truck, it looks so heavy and armored, great job, but, i have to be alittle technical here, the air-vent thing for the engine, there is on the front, you cant really use in space where there no air is.....but else its a really nice job
Well, i have to be alittle snarky here, and say if you can see grass around the vehicle, you can be pretty certain there is some sort of atmosphere on the surface for it to grow in. So there!

Fantastic creationn Shannon, this remind me when there was only Lego Sistem pieces, and when i was very young. The colors, and the wheels are great! But the best part are the black bombs...fantastic

Nice! It looks very classic space and the SNOT is great! Nice power cores, I actually used the the same idea except without the eight cylinders in one of my MOCs! Great work!

Love the color combo and the play features. Although you didn't build the scene to go with this, (which would have been awesome!) Overall its very clean and the shape is cool.

I would totally drive that around in my backyard making 'vroom vroom' sounds... looks like a fun little toy. Nice power core too, I appreciate simple little bits like that. And Deep Purple all the way.
