Large and In Charge...
Maxi-sigfig, Hard Knocks style.
About this creation

It took many attempts and some SNOTty configuring to get the face as close as possible, with an end result that I am quite pleased with. Sure, he kinda looks like he wants to rip your head off, but I'm ok with that.

34 black chez slopes to get the roundness I wanted on the legs and another 24+ for each arm (48-50 total). Mmm, chez slopes...

'Are you lookin' at me bum? Cheeky bum looker!'

Hard Knocks 4 Life, brah. That's the truth, truth.

Fourth Dimension Commentary: Ever since seeing Ryan Wood's Princess Leia Maxi-fig over a year ago, I've wanted to make a maxi-sigfig. After sharing WIP pics with the gang, Leda has begged me to do the whole Hard Knocks crew. No way that I can build them all at once, but I have promised to at least attempt a Maxi-Leda Face and then I'll see from there. I have no idea when this will happen, with so many projects in the works at the moment, but I wouldn't want to let her down. =P ~H

Hans, thanks for the link to Nathan Sawaya's site. I remember seeing his works on TV a while back but this was the first time I went there. I completely agree, his work is twistedly beautiful in all the right areas. I may not posess this level of talent or bricks for that matter but it does give me some ideas. It's going to take me a while to get this built but I'll let you know when it's up.

I remember this beauty from the WIP pics, but seeing it again after some time has the same impact on me like it had the first time. It's stunning how you shaped all the little details to stay true to the minifig but also make it look more real.

Quoting Mike Johnson This is truly a brilliant piece of work Hans! I've been contemplating of doing a human sculpture piece for a while now but I don't even know where to begin. Any ideas on where to start? The only thing I can say is that no one has ever built what I have in mind, at least to my knowledge. Good to see something new from you my friend.
Thanks for the kudos, Mike, it was a lot of fun working out the little details. As for sculpting, I suggest checking out Nathan Sawaya's work: http://www.brickartist.com/gallery.html (if you haven't already), it's the craziest stuff I've ever seen. I am certainly intrigued by what you have brewing in your melon...~H

Quoting M<0><0>DSWIM ! I can see that this took a lot of time and work (50 cheese slopes?) and it's paid off BIG time (haha)!
That was just for the arms! Took around 80 for the whole thing. Which means he will have to be torn down to attempt Maxi-Leda...
Quoting Quad ????? Wow, that is awesome. Now where's Giggles? lol
Hahaha, thought about that, but I'll need another 14 of the yellow macaroni bricks to pull off all four hands (and a TON of brown bricks), but maybe someday!
Quoting StoveTop Creator Perhaps... AFOL's answer to Cubans? Nice! :)
Wouldn't that be cool? We can only hope... =) Thank you to everyone for all of the great comments, I'm glad this was well received!~H

Ignore the updated Leda-Face that would be too hard. To be honest she only wears her purple hat when she's off having some fun. She still has her black helmet hair under that hat...
