A Vic Viper in the style of Batman's vehicles. I'm not really into spacecrafts, but november is Vic Viper month in commemoration of Nnenn, which is a good reason to contribute something. Exclusively built out of set 7783.
About this creation
Normally Bruce Wayne will have a look at what's in development at Wayne Enterprises if he wants a new toy to play with as Batman. Unfortunately they do not have anything of interest at the moment, and therefore Bruce decides to come up with something himself. So he goes to his Batcave (set 7783) to see what kind of material he has there to work with. Inspired by all the recent VicViper models, he decides to use the parts in his Batcave to create something that has similar features. Of course it has to fit within the Batman line of vehicles, so it needs to have a distinctive shape, and the main colour has to be black. After a day of work, with trial and error, this is the result.
The main characteristics of Vic Vipers are: rear lateral wings, dual forward prongs, and a single dorsal tail.
This one has one single central jetengine.
The side shows the unique tail wing, which fits quite well with Batman. Also the reinforced prongs are clearly visible.
From the top we get the best idea of the distinctive shape; a combination of round shapes, together with sharp edges.
The rear section has a lot of small gurneys to reduce drag in high speed combat.
From the cockpit Batman has full control.
Bruce's alias is ready for a testrun after taking off.
The main weapons are 2 board cannons, and 2 laser guns all the way at the front.
On the wingtips there are 2 laser guided missiles, for hard to hit targets.
Mission accomplished; the test went well, so it's time to head back to base.
The classic Vic Viper shot.

I just realized, that I hadn't written a comment on this one, yet. That's a great VV, and it's a great Batwing, too. You got the batman style very well. In my opinion this is one of the best models to show the potential of the Vic Viper design. And it gets even cooler knowing that you only used parts from one set. Great job! |

Very cool. I love the shape of the wings. I dont have any Batman pieces but I might try a similar ship soon (using Blacktron minifigs and pieces) to go with my Classic Space Punk ship. Thanks for your comments on my Transporter. Yes it is my first 'old school technic studs up' moc on mocpages, but most of my large scale cars have technic chassis and steering. I will let you know when its finished. Would you consider joining the group? (the link is on my moc). You dont need to build a whole race team, but the more the merrier. Joe :) |
