About this creation

Well, round 3 category Africa, no big deal, it'll be easy. Not at all it took me about a week just to think of this idea, after that there came the issue of scaling it to the scale I wanted and finally making the branches and leaves look nice. The only reason I didn't put any animals in was it would be impossible to make them at the correct scale accurately. All that was before positioning the photo shoot. Well at least it was a challenge and I learned some new photography techiniques with this creation.

The basic idea of this moc is that some guy is on vacation and he is getting toured around by a native who brings him to see a baobab tree out in the desert.

This creation is a micro scale Baobab tree. The baobab tree is a remarkable tree as is able to survive for months during a drought, also it is one of the tallest trees in Africa and is extremely gnarled at the top. There are many legends about the baobab tree but they all amount to the fact that somehow, for some reason (depends which legend you read) that the tree was pulled out of the ground and planted with it's roots up in the air.

This shows the scale of human to tree, well with the photo I used. Those two round 1x1 flat bricks represent a human.

Quoting Chris Stone Wow cool! I have never mixed two scales together so I have no idea how hard it is. Anyways this looks terrific! Love the Baobab tree :)

It's not too hard to do if you have a good set-up and proper lighting, all you need is a good camera angle.
