My second MOC in the Unitron theme: an armored infantry carrier.
About this creation
The Unitron theme was seriously underdeveloped with only 4 sets when it was originally released. It did include the famous Monorail set, but I always thought that there could've been so much more. Here is another of my contributions to the theme: an armored infantry carrier.


Side view. There are two soldiers manning a gun turrent on each side.

Front view.

Close up shot of the gun turret. The idea is that the gunners can provide cover for the soldiers out in the field.

Close up of the wheels. I used the spring-based suspension blocks that came with one of the Blacktron sets, so each wheel has independent suspension.

You can see the soldiers in the carrier through the armored window.

I copied the missile launcher design from one of the new Alien Conquest theme sets. In retrospect, I should maybe expand on the design a little bit, but the idea is that it carries 6 rockets that can be launched at various targets.

I always aim for a high degree of playability: here you can see how the roof opens so I can access the minifigs inside.

Sweet. Love the gun turret and removable top. Very playable! Nicely done.
