Previously on Battlestar Galactica:
About this creation
Parrington Levopolis, held captive aboard an unknown alien ship.
Perhaps it is time to begin the negotiations for my release?

"It's alright, Parrington. No worries..."

"You're home now."

Caprica Orbit
Commander Nempec: "SitRep!"

Lt. Shraga: "Sir, we've got multiple contacts! Cylons are with us. Eight other ships, nothing's moving..."

Watchko: "Should we launch Vipers?"

Nempec: "Not yet, let's see who we're dealing with. Comm, patch me through: This is the Battlestar Galactica: We come in peace. We are from a planet called Earth. Our ancestors were from these worlds many centuries ago."

Captain Dendauw: "Mr. Kaleta, what are they saying?"

Lt Kaleta: "Processing: Battlestar, Galactica, Peace, Earth. Sir, could it be?"

Admiral Mahan: "Okay, let's not jump to any conclusions here. Send a message:"

Comm: "Message coming back, Sir, but I can't make any sense of it?"

Shraga: "Ensign Kelso, run it through the translation matrix."

Kelso: "On it, Sir!"

Admiral Mahan (over loudspeaker): "This is the Battlestar Triton of the first Poseidon Group. Welcome home, Galactica. You are among friends!"

Cheers from the CIC.

Nempec: "Very well Triton, I would like to extend an invitation to you and your officers to come aboard Galactica. We have a lot of catching up to do!"

Conference, Commander Nempec's quarters.
Nempec: "Gentlemen, we all had our own ideas about what we might find here in the Colonies, but this, I must admit, is unexpected."

Watchko: "That's for sure! Who'd a thought that many of 'em would of survived the Cylon attack? You'd think they'd still be glowin' in the dark."

Mav: "We knew some survived, but recreating a space faring civilization, pretty impressive, if you ask me."

Watchko: "And what if they start getting curious about the Cylon Baseship that tagged along with us?"
Mav: "That'll get complicated..."

Nempec: "Okay, we'll play it close to the vest. We don't want to give too much away as far as the Galactica and our capabilities, or the Cylons. We'll do the meet and greet, and get them to the conference room for a debriefing. Hopefully we'll find out the tactical situation here in the Colonies, and why they need a fleet of Battlestars."

Hangar Deck

Bones: "So, Commander, do you think there'll be any cute girls?"

Mav: "Don't get your hopes up, Bones. Maybe if you'd taken a shower this morning you might have had a chance."

Simon: "I guess that's their version of a Raptor, Sir, not that different from ours, eh?"

Attention on deck!

Nempec: "On behalf of the people of Earth, welcome aboard the Galactica!"

Mahan: "Thank you, Commander. And welcome home to you, your crew, and this incredible Battlestar!"

Nempec: "Good to meet you, Admiral."
Mahan: "And you as well, Commander."

Col: "Doug Watchko, Ex-O..."
Captain: "Nancy Dendauw... Quite a ship you've got here, Colonel!"

Mav: "Commander Barto, good to meet you Admiral."
Mahan: "Interesting, I see you're the same rank as Nempec?"
Mav: "Yes, I'm the Commander of the Air Group, he's in charge of Galactica. It's how we do things on Earth, Sir."

Bones: "So, any of you guys play cards?"

Dendauw: "What do you think of our Scout Ship?"
Kuo: "Interesting... Some sort of composite it looks like?"

Dendauw: "Yes, but that's classified."

Tactical Briefing Room
Nempec: "So, Admiral, Captain, we've asked you here to bring us up to speed on the tactical situation in the Colonies."

Nempec: "We have read Galactica's logs, which is of course now ancient history, but what ultimately happened back here was unknown to the original crew. How did your ancestors survive after the attack?"

Captain Dendauw: "If I may, Admiral..."

Dendauw: "We inhabit a complicated quaternary star system. Two binary systems revolving around each other. What I see here on your map, only eight of these Twelve Colonies you show are habitable. Our ancient history is sketchy at best, but from what we can surmise, the attacks were in proportion to the planet's populations and infrastructure before the Fall."

Dendauw: "Planets like Caprica are still only observed from orbit, and have been declared unsafe and strictly off limits. The Worlds of Poseidon consist of these six planets in three of the four Star Systems. The other two worlds are controlled by the Athenains, plus several other uninhabited planets, and various outposts."

Col: "Let me get this straight, maybe my translator's out of whack, but is this some sort of religious war?"

Admiral Mahan: "No, Colonel, you've got it right. We, the Followers of Poseidon, have been at war with the Athenians for generations. But it's more than just a theology. Poseidon has come to our people directly, offering wisdom and guidance. It is His wish, and our mission, that the ruthless Athena is stopped, and not allowed to rule over us, as the Gods did in the past."

Mav: "Like on Kobol, right?"

Dendauw: "You know of this place? Our charts beyond the Home Worlds are insufficient, and our resources are limited for such a lengthy journey. No one has ever attempted to find it."

Mahan: "And Commander, what of the other ship that has traveled with you? What is it's function?"

Nempec: "Well, Admiral, it was part of the Fleet that journeyed to Earth. But it is more of an escort ship for this mission back to the Colonies."

Nempec: "Admiral, Captain, thank you for the information, it has been very enlightening..."

Nempec: "However, don't let us keep you from your duties. The Marines will escort you back to the Hangar Deck. We will contact your ship to coordinate our presence here in the Colonies. Good hunting!"

Mahan: "Er, thank you Commander, for you and your crew's hospitality. We will be in contact."

Dendauw: "Hmf."

Nempec: "Gentlemen, we seem to be in the middle of a complicated situation here. Mav, your experience with Athena in the Tomb on Kobol was more significant than we realized at the time. Looks like this war of theirs has something to do with these beings, whoever or whatever they are."

Colonel: "No kidding! Instead of them fighting each other, they're using these people to do it for them!"

Mav: "I suggest that we keep our contact with Athena strictly confidential, and do our best to avoid getting in the middle of this."

Nempec: "Agreed. We need more information before proceeding, one way or the other. And finding the whereabouts of our man Levopolis may be the key."

Mav: "I'll organize Raptor teams to jump around the systems, and see what we can scrounge up. We may get some info out of these new pals of ours, too. I think I'll contact their CAG and arrange some sort of meeting. "
Nempec: "Sounds like a plan. Keep me posted."

Parrington suddenly awakens, disoriented from his frightening dream, not knowing where he is, or how long he has been here.

He now hears the rhythmic sound of metal banging against metal, but in a cadence that makes him think of marching soldiers. Who could it be?

If season 2 stays like this, it will surely be excellent! I see you used more brick separators in the architecture, very creative! One problem though, there's absolutely no way Kelso could ever become an ensign, and it's really effecting my perception of your show. Still, I'll try to overlook this glaring lapse in reality.
Think of it like that STNG episode where Picard ends up a junior officer. Wait until the Christmas episode, and Phip Cripson's title... |

But hey, I couldn't miss the season 2 premiere. The use of so many different locations in one episode allows a very professional storytelling. My favourite part here is your dolly shot on the hangar deck, starting 2 pictures after 'Attention on deck!'. Great work.
Thanks! I added a bunch of extra shots on the Hangar Deck, just for the drama I suppose, but mainly because I liked them. It's similar to the scene on the TV show where the crew of the Pegasus arrives. Glad you enjoyed it! |

What a way to start the show. I'm loving it. This plot is really begining to thicken.
Thanks, Mike! |

Wow very exciting! I love the lighting! Most people think making a story is a piece of cake but they are dead wrong IMO! Your cylons are pretty sweet too! Great job! Can't wait until the next episode :)
Thanks for the great comment, Chris! You're right, it's a TON of work, but it's fun. Thanks for watching! |

Woo-hoo! Hooray for the start of season 2! I'm already on the edge of my seat for how things develop... fantastic lighting in this episode, by the way, you must have put in a lot of work on it.
Thanks, Stuart! This one took a long time to get organized, but I actually finished sooner than I thought. Glad you enjoyed it!
