Dalheim medieval diorama
Welcome to the lands of Dalheim! This is where the tax evaders build their houses with large tunnels beneath. They use the tunnels for both storing their valuables and for a place to retreat if war breaks out.
About this creation
The setting is of a medieval village in the highlands with surrounding mountains.
The original idea was to make a small landscape on 4x 32x32 base plates. In the beginning I was only focusing on the landscape itself, but after a while I decided to make a small house on the top of the first module. I was unsure if I was to make a japanese or medieval styled house, but after getting more and more done I decided to go with a medieval theme.

Just when I thought I was finished I realised that it looked a bit empty and unfinished with just the first module by itself. I then started on the second module which I have also used 4x 32x32 baseplates. In the beginning I had planned a watermill, but I was too inspired by the "Mill Village Raid" [7189 ] so I decided on to go with a windmill instead. The windmill is also motorized and geared down to make a nice and slow spinning effect.

The total length is 120 studs, 64 studs deep and around 40 studs tall on the highest point. This build has taken almost 4 months to make and there is used about 20.000 parts and bits.

Take a look at the WIP set if you want to see how I made this huge landscape.

Hope you enjoy! Please feel free to comment and critique this build if you like!

The landscape is lovely in and of itself, but those buildings really compliment it nicely. This is a masterpiece of ABS!

I love it. You take time and decide for every stud what to place on. And yes, sum is four months. Dark water was my first wow and rocks behind the mill. Custom labels do fit perfectly.

Beautiful! This creation obviously took a lot of time and planning on your part. You have captured the feel of an idyllic countryside scene with the amazing level of detail throughout the MOC. The waterfalls are quite good and very natural in look, as are the multiple levels of the creation. Bravo Sir, bravo.

This is very nice! I love the foamy effect at the base of the waterfall, that is a detail I often can't be bothered adding to my MOCs - You have done it very well! The foliage in my mind looks a bit messy, but I think this adds to the whole 'Out in the Wild' theme. The buildings - superb! They give off a certain amount of character which compliments the overall composition. Great Bricking Dude! ~Thoy
