Based on Thomas Cole's 1836 painting, "Desolation," this 16x16 vignette is a ruinous spin on Greco-Roman architectural style.

Very, very nice! I disagree with Max, I think the red roof lines up perfectly with the cape and the blood, and makes it quite pleasing to the eye. Only thing I'm so sure about is that tree, seems a little blocky. But overall, well done indeed! |

Compositionally, this is incredible. Between the fallen pillars, the tree, and the dripping blood (my favorite part), you have mastered the concept. I do think that the sharp red tiles on the roof throw the color balance off, but no matter. Great work! |

Awesome, Paul! I love the figs, and the aquaduct with the blood is creepy but cool. The crumbling roof is awesome and I like the vulture. :D The final shot is pretty cool, and I like the smooth rockwork, and how it blends with the building. But on a side note, do I see the signs of some blue-screen work on those white backgrounds? :) Great work Paul! |
