I was recently contacted by a young fellow from Singapore and asked if I could build him an SCDF Ambulance. He had seen my London Ambulance and from that decided to contact me.
I thought why not?
Having never seen one in real life I found lots of photos on the internet. Looking at the pictures I noticed that all SCDF ambulances are Mercedes Sprinters, so I thought it would be a simple job of just modding the London Ambulance.
However the backs of the ambulances are quite different and I was posed with the problem of trying to make symmetrical double doors on a 7-wide vehicle, not as simple as I first thought.
After a while of toying with ideas and even considering to make it an 8-wide, I came up with the design you see below. I'm very happy with the way it's all turned out and have enjoyed rising to the challenge.
Hope you enjoy looking at it.

Aweosme! Looks really like the real thing! Im a singaporean and I must say, this SCDF ambulance is really accurate. However, the width should be a little wider (maybe two studs wider?) Cheers!
Thanks for the rating and comment. However I totally disagree with you about the width. Making it 2 studs wider would mean that the front is 8 wide and the back is 9 wide which would look totally out of proportion. The windscreen would have to be in 2 pieces which would also spoil the look. Also the wheels would look way to small on an ambulance of that size. I'm not saying that this is the most perfectly accurate SCDF ambulance but I think this is my fairest rendition of it considering the limitation of certain Lego pieces.
Great and very detailed model, especially the interior. The model is also instantly recognizable as a Sprinter, especially the front. And yes, good job with the rear doors, not an easy task to make them 2 1/2 studs wide and good looking. Thumbs up!
