A Samurai's Sacred Place... A Meditation Destination
A nature and waterfall MOC with a bit of Japanese touches.
About this creation
Hi all, this is my newest MOC and i went outside my comfort zone on this one and i think it turned out pretty good, but you be the judge.

This is a place where this samurai comes to pray, meditate, train, fish, talk to his deceased father and just enjoy nature at its most beautiful... this is my first moc of this type, i usally build vehicles and star wars MOCs so please keep that in mind.

Birds eye view

My attempt at a Japanese torll which divides regular areas from the sacred, and here the sacred is a statue of the samurai's father and final resting place.

a side view of the statue and flower garden

View of the MOC without torll

farther out...

Here is a few pics of the waterfall and pond area which i like alot...

Most MOCs I see have the water flat against the rock, I chose to make mine flow over the edge, you could get behind the falls if you want.

Here we can see the samurai training in martial arts type moves...

The splits!!! Ouch >.<

This is the samurai with the statue of his father, see the resemblence?

a quiet place for prayer and meditation.

he caught a fish!!!

The samurai would like to thank you for viewing his special place... and thanks to lego and you for looking. Any thoughts are always welcome. ~cheers

You should build more on the nature theme! Itīs very rewarding to leave the mechanical world for a moment and create the beauty of the natural world with plastic :) This is true for both landscaping and animals. The use of trans-blue/clear pieces creates a great water effect. Combined with the samurai theme it creates a magical place. Nicely done Scott.

This has a very unique atmosphere, I love this theme. Very nice samurai costume. My fav. part is the landscaping, particularly the waterfall. Great work!

Hey Man, Thanks For Joining The Group. Alright, If I Didn't Know Any Better, I Could Have Sworn You Have Made An Landscape MOC Prior To This Particular MOC. I Feel That From What I Can See You Have The General Basics, Creating The Features, Layout, And Coloring. And You Have Them Done Pretty Well In Fact, The Only Improvements I Can See That Can Be Made Is Working On Making The Scene Studless, It Adds To The Overall Effect Of The Scene, But With Time And Practice You Can Learn How To Make Most Structures Without Showing Studs. Another Issue, And It's Rather Small, Is The Statue. I Have No Problem With It, I Just Felt Like If You Happen To Find A Grey Helmet, Replace The Hair With It, Though A Grey Samurai Helmet May Be Hard To Come By. So, Overall, I Feel Like This Is Very Nicely Done, Especially For A First Attempt, And That You Should Make More And Refine The Basic Techniques You Have Demonstrated Here, While Learning Or Creating More Advance Techniques.

No Problem, It's My Self Given Role To Aid Fellow Builders By Providing Detailed Opinions. And I Saw Why You Choose The Hair Over The Helmet, And I Agree But At The Same Time, I Feel That Some People Would See The Gear And Wonder About The Lack Of The Helmet, I Just Wanted To Bring The Issue To Your Attention. But Seeing The Quality Of The MOC, I Doubt Anyone Will Notice, But You Never Know With The Internet.

Quoting Ru Corder The rockwork could be smoother, but the waterfall is top notch. Well done!
Thanks and your right. It was were I started and almost scrapped the whole thing, I kept thinking, these rocks are poop... I hope to do better next try. The falls and the water areas are what I like most. The water up top with the plant work looks really good to me.

Thanks Andrew I really appreciate your thoughts and agree... this is my first shot at landscape believe it or not :-) but not the last after the feedback ive received. I have the samurai helmet that came with fig you see here, the statue is wearing the armor that goes with it. I tried the helmet but it made it seem less statuesque. That hair piece looks like it's carved from stone, that's why I used it. I may post that statue by itself with a more ornamental base and I will include a pic with the helmet. Thanks again

A very nice, quite diorama. It actually has a vague resemblance to the creation I recently finished and haven't uploaded yet...
