Absolutely epic! This is what I would have dreamed of having enough enough Lego to build when I was 9 or 10. Strangely I still do! I like the details, especially the storage rooms and monorail. I also like the way that new Lego parts have been used but they look authentic. Excellent. |

Also, I agree w/ cyberfrank: when I saw your technic girders at the top, I also immediatel thought to cover the play face with trans yellow plates using an "industrial robo-hinge" ;)
overall though, I also get the "old school fidelity. The "missing panels" do not detract from the design because the potential exists for this type of personalization, which captures the magic of LEGO. Bravo. |

Wow, that's amazing! I wish I had at least the space to build something like that! The station looks like it could be part of a Classic Space diorama in a Legoland park. You captured the spirit of the G1 space models very well. It's cool to see the three good old friends on the landing platforms. Great job! :-)) |

For years and years I did that very thing and scoffed at the company for making "unrealistic" models without four walls :-) For this model I wanted to go totally old school though...what do you mean by an extra layer?

That was a tough call. I went with the landing platforms instead. I don't know how to make a crater look similar to the original sets...honestly didn't think of the craters...

I used piece #2642 from the bricklink reference catalog for the ramps. They originally came in harbor sets...
