In an effort to keep the Montrovian Airforce at the forefront of the technological arms race, the Montrovian Defense Industry has created the most advanced air superiority jet fighter in the world: the F-125 "Ares". Named for the Greek god of war, bloodlust, violence, manly courage, and civil order, the Ares will work in conjuction with the F/A-17E "Firestorm", which will be relegated to ground attack almost exclusively. The F-17A will be phased out as the F-125 enters front line service. State of the art fly-by-wire controls, avionics, targetting, and defense systems ensure that the Ares will rule the skys for many years to come. The multi-role nature of the aircraft allows it to be fitted with air-to-ground weapons should the need arise.

good fighter, but the outside pylons compromises its stealth capability.
It has weapon bays, but just like the F-22, it can mount weapons on the wings when stealth is not a priority. |

Inspiring build, so many features. Independent thrust vectoring is my favorite. Your comment suggests that they are a standard feature, but I thought it is quite specialized. I learned something new. Way cool I can imagine one at an air show.
Thanks for the compliment! This MOC was built for the Conflict game which was set in the future in a time in which thrust vectoring has become standard on most fighter aircraft. |

Can this be adapted for air-to-ground?
Of course! Because we already have the F/A-17E, it will be used primarily for air superiority, however, smart bombs and AGMs can be fitted to the wings and weapon bays.
(I saw that it had to be multi-role in the contest) |

The wings are moveable from forward swept to fully extended. |
