MIT Round 2, Derek Berdine vs Ben King
My entry for Round 4 of the 2011 MIT. Delta Bracket.
About this creation
This is the link you're looking for...if you are looking for the MIT home page.

This is the link you're looking for...if you are looking for the crazy entry of my worthy opponent, Ben King.

The category is: "Go ahead, make my day."

**********Please to enjoy**********

Harry Callahan has just laid carnage to a small gang of robbers in one of his regular spots, the Acorn Diner. As (we'll call him) Marvin drags a helpless waitress towards the door at gunpoint, Dirty Harry steps up, pushing his Smith & Wesson .44 Magnum directly into the wide-eyed thug's face.

Harry says nothing, simply staring Marvin down, his eyes squinting against the cloud of acrid smoke, the lingering remains of gunfire, that he has just stepped through.

Marvin's eyes roll as he stares at the massive gun in the cop's fist, the sirens of approaching reinforcements just barely audible in the background.

Harry slightly cocks his head as Marvin quickly assesses the situation in his mind, the sounds of the police sirens steadily rising. He adjusts his grip on his own handgun.

Finally, Harry breaks the silence, making a statement both simple in its intent, but powerful in its implied threat. "Go ahead..."

*Gulp*

"...make my day."

{A friend requested that I try making the door green, but the only green that I have enough of to do so was lime green. Yeah...not so much.}

Quoting Ben King Welcome to the next round! Congrats on winning! Comparing my creation to yours I can see why you won. There are so many great details :) 5/5 Good luck in the next round!
Thank you, Ben. You should definitely not be too hard on yourself, though...your interpretation of the category was very cool, and I'm still ultra-impressed by your Stupendous entry from last round. :D

Thanks for all the positive comments, everyone! :) This was a really fun build for me, and I gotta say that this competition is the perfect excuse to try new things. Once this is all over, I'm thinking of trying to do MOCs of as many of the other categories as I can...could be fun! XD

Very cute little diner. Love the black and white tile floor. Love the ketchup bottle. the cake slices, the order trolley, all the little greebles. (Cube heads are not my favorite tho. But, who cares!) You certainly are trying a lot of building styles. Again hats off to that! Best of Luck! :)

Good job! Your opponent's my friend, so I'll be rooting for him, but he's got excellent competition. I love the ticket wheel on the wall and the way you did the tiling on the floor. The cube dudes are also great, though not my style. Good luck.

Quoting Ru Corder Whoa, Derek. This is awesome! I know a thing or two about Cubedudes myself, and these are excellent! Very, very nice. By far your best MOC to date. Well done!
Thanks, Ru (and thanks for all the tagging you've done on the Brackets over on Flickr). :D

Quoting Ben King Wow! I've got some tough competition. It is funny that you made cubedudes because that was my last category. I like all the details like the pie stand, and I also like that "tacky" art made out of cheese slopes. you could probably use that same technique to make a nice dart board too. Best of luck!
Thank you, Ben. I know...I loved your Stupendous Man, and knew that I really had to bring it, this round. A dart board out of cheese slopes is a great idea. :) Good luck to you, too! Can't wait to see your entry. :D

Thanks! I've been wanting to do cube dudes and mini-land scale stuff for a while now. Thought this was a good excuse to go for it. :)
