Spiffy, always wanted to see an 8-wide fire truck and it looks awesome (I've only been making regular 8-wide cars) |

since you have had such a great start are there any plans on more apparatus??
Yes I plan on getting the body of a Wichita 75' Pierce Quint done over the holiday weekend. Im very happy with the initial design |

Everything that everyone has said about 8 wide is true. More detail, more options, more everything! I am thinking about building some in 8 wide just for fun. No plans on creating a 8 wide Fire Dept... yet lol jk. |

While Brian and Andy are trading complements I have to chime in and say that it is great to see the 8-wide club inspiring each other to new heights. I love these trucks as well as those by Nathan Larsen. When I see these 8-wides I am happy to see that there is some "in-scale" mutual aid out there. Nothing against the six-wide builders, but 8-wide apparatus just looks better. |

NIce Rig Andy! Im not sure why i never came across this before!
Brian your rigs were a HUGE inspiration into getting me into building this model. I had the idea but it wasn't until I stumbled onto your Lego FD Page that my idea turned into determination. Your rigs are amazing |

I've come to be the exact same. In my first batch of trucks I didn't have a specific brand I was going after so they were a mix of Pierce, Spartan, KME all in the same truck. WHAT A MESS! And LDD is a bit expensive to buy direct so that being said I kinda kiboshed my first department. Now I am resembling a department next to my real life department and the trucks are 100% based on Real life designs of the trucks and manufactures with no mixing and matching. Correct me if i am mistaken but your model looks to take on the characteristics of a Pierce? Maybe could pass as a KME...
I used www.bricklink.com for parts of my first trucks. It is 1/3 the price of LDD but so complicated and time consuming.
Hope to see more from you. 8-wide pride :)
8-wide pride indeed! Yes its modeled after a 2006 Pierce Dash http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6213/6268288476_395b60bcff_b.jpg |

Although this vote of mine will make your truck more popular than my my own prized possession apparatus, The detail is just so good I must. Are you making a Lego Department at all to go with?
I would really like to at this point. I really like the idea of modeling after different real life trucks. Because of the high cost in pieces I do everything on LDD first. This entire build is 100% buyable through Lego. I have a thread going on Eurobricks - Town Forum about what my plans are going forward. |

Awesome truck. You've exemplified why I like working in 8 wide. You can add so much detail all around that 6 wide misses. I really like the ladder rack you built. Overall, a great truck. |
