About this creation
Well, it’s been two years since my last collection update, so here we go again. Sit back, relax and get ready for 50 pics of sorting madness!!

I bought these big storing drawers for my basic bricks in blue, yellow, red, white, gray tones, brown tones and black.

the remaining big drawer is for big parts like wall elements, huge wheels, boat elements, domes, etc…

The slopes system, like I explained in the 2009 update, expanded. I sort my slopes in its 4 versions, arches and wings included. They always come together when I build so it’s handy to have them in one compartiment.

The same goes for dark grey,

blue,

yellow,

red,

old & new grey,

and black.

My collection of green is not big enough to integrate into the big drawers nor the slopes system, so until then they’re sorted by tone.

On to another system. Here’s where I sort stuff that I don’t have to many off, by color. From left to right: old & new gray, blue gray, dark grey, black.

Orange, dark red, pink & purple, basic red.

Dark & light blue, basic blue, yellow, silver & gold & chrome.

Sand brown, very few tan, and regular brown.

Plates and baseplates, wich eventually will find a place in big drawers as well.

Modified 1X1 pieces.

Stacked 1X1 pieces, clear ones too. These sorting boxes have proved themselves gold worthy.

Tiles. This box is a kind of “passing trough box”. As a collection of tiles grows to big for the compartiment they move to drawers,

as has happened with these. The number of cheese slopes and grills literally exploded since 2009. Their presence in sets is numereous lately.

more tiles (long ones), antennae tentacles and tubes, “creator” hinges and a drawer for various white stuff.

The two top drawers are probably my favourit kind of bricks. I call them “side turners” and I sort them in their plate-and brick form. The two on the bottom are trans parts and canopies.

Technic hinges, Exo hinges, other hinges and turntables.

Cockpit related stuff, closets.

Engine related stuff.

Modified bricks. I tend to stack these as well: they're easier to locate and you instantly know how many you can use.

Rounds: 1X1, 2X2, 4X4 and discs.

Mi awsum Bionicle stuff!

Technic bars.

Small technic stuff. The variety in wich these come are mind bubbling, but I’ve managed somehow to sort them by “family”. No, I’m not going to explain, see for yourselves!

Minifig madness: since the collectible series my collection has seriously expanded, forcing me to drastically sort this species. Here we go: head ware.

Heads. I sort them by color, expression, gender, beard, glasses…You name it, I have it.

Torso’s.

Pants and foot wear.

Neck wear.

Weaponry.

Tools and other minifig accessory.

Droids and other Lego figs.

Printed stuff.

Animal & plantlife, gems & food.

Moving on to the unpopular bins: tires, sorted by diameter.

Building instructions.

Decals, wich I rarely use. I prefer my bricks to be anonymous, so I can use them to the utmost creative way.

And my Lego display. You may recognise Dennis Price's wonderful Secret Santa vig there as well as a charming Fabuland set I refuse to sort.

Well, you got untill here, might as well comment something. I hope I was of some help, and for god's sake; stop droling!

Quoting Leda Kat =^..^= You have a whole tray for pink and purple?! You can't see them but my eyes are daggers for you. So jealous. I barely have enough to fill an egg cup...

This is certainly better sorted than my collection. You have inspired me to do a better job! I haven't done any serious sorting in years. Maybe not even then.

Wow.....I wish I had that many boxes (I definatly have as many LEGOs)! Most of this stuff is like I sort the few things I can such as tiles, minifigs ect. I am actually going "box looking" before I get any more LEGOs. Great collection!

Nice and tidy Gio! It's amazing what can be achieved with a well sorted collection and a little knowledge of the brick.

Very good! How long did it take you and how much did you spend on all of the bins and other containers?
