I've tried building Heroica Board like Paul Gyugyi and I must say I enjoy it immensely.
Here we have the first of my additions, in the lower left corner there is a section of dense forest( works like a pile of rubble) above that is a goblin out-post
Here we can see a stream which you can't cross unless you can fly(more on that later)
What's that behind the solider? Why it's a gold studded statue which works like a treasure chest but without the chance of losing hitpoints.
Inside the cavern there's a cyclops guarding the entrance and a stair case going up. the cyclops is strength 6, so good luck...
outside the goblins' fort there is a heath potion, but wait it has three doses meaning that you can use it three times, after each use remove a layer, so that you don't 'forget' how many are left...
also there is a pile of rubble with gold in it. IF you roll a shield you miss the chance to get some gold. Roll a three and you destroy the pile of rubble and get a gold piece. Cool huh? ;)
The best thing about LEGO is Arguably the figs so why leave them out of Heroica?
Remember that goblin with the blue stud on his head? well that is how you tell what minifigs go to what microfigs
This lil' guy is the 5 strength goblin warlord Mosrak, he has a shield which reduces the damage he takes by one. if you manage to kill him you get to keep his shield
This guy is vital to winning because he has a spear that you need to slay the cyclops. and for those who prefer to not fight he also has a key to the fort's door.
Fact: this guy is based off of this guy from a game I like
Ah, the cyclops as a fore mentioned the cyclops will slaughter you if you can't put his eye out with the spear. If you try attacking the cyclops without the spear he automatically wins. Unfortunately I don't have a fig for the cyclops.
On flight, simple just quaff a potion of flight. Maybe I'll make a artifact that grants flight.
Quoting Ben Romeo
Hhm, quite nice, quite nice indeed! I like all of the different high-level enemies you have to fight, and the option to not fight. Your ideas for all of those different obstacles are interesting.
Well actually the option to not fight is more like the option to not-fight-as-much-and-skip-the-really-big-cyclops. But yeah, and thanks everybody
This is awsome! I love the way you've used color, with the green outside, brown fort, grey & tan basement, and kept with the microfig scale for the hill and fort.
I like your idea for the gold in the rocks. Hmm, maybe I'll steal it :) and add a pick axe to the store, and have heroes buy a mining skill...
The large figs add a nice touch.
