Arnold Schwarzenegger’s meteoric rise is complete from: champion body builder; to Hollywood actor; to Governor of California and finally his ultimate goal – The President of the United States of America.
Little does he know, that as he accepts the applause from his adoring fans, plans are already afoot to ruin his day…
…A new highly advanced Terminator has been sent back from the future. It disguises its self as Sarah…
…Palin. She is armed with a certificate of impeachment. Luckily (or not ;) Skynet recently discovered how to send people back through time fully clothed. Or this moc might have needed parental guidance ;)
"What! You can’t impeach me." Dramatic pause "I’LL BE BACK!"
Moments later Arnie smashes through the wall in his Hummer.
"Impeach THIS Palin!"
Detailed photos of the mocs:
Arnie’s Hummer (6 wide) with suspension and steering:
Lean the Hummer to one side and it will steer in that direction. Steering lock is very poor but it does work :).
The rounded plate (2x3) limites the steering lock so the wheels do not rub against the wheel arches.
Painting of Abraham Lincoln:
Initially I did not want to do an Arnie based creation but I couldn’t resist. The title – Impeachment Day is in homage to Terminator 2 – Judgement Day. The idea of Arnie running for President is not a million miles away from the truth, as he was the Governor of California for 7 years. Sarah Palin a rising star in American politics and she shares the same first name as the other main character in the films – Sarah Connor.
I really struggled with this category. I had several ideas including the Beatles song – I’ll be back and Robert Falcon Scott's (Scott of the Antarctic’s) famous quote “I am just going outside and may be some time”. I finally decided on this idea as I thought it was more creative. There is no political sub plot to this moc, it's just a bit of fun. I hope you like it :)
the funny thing is, when i noticed what the catagorie was, arnie and terminator was the first thing there did pop into my head, so from my point of wiew, you did manage to complete this catagorie the most =)
i did specialy like the hummer and the portrait of lincoln,
Very nice MOC, I really like the Hummer, and the Lincoln picture, and the... You know what; the whole thing is just great. I have yet to see the other Terminator movies, Netflix only had the 1st one on insta-watch, but it was great. And so is this MOC, nice job.
Dearest judges ;). Thanks for your comments, I completely agree with your judgements. Leda's entry was far more complex and deserved the victory. Thanks again for all your time and effort in creating this contest and the massive task of judging all the entries. I'LL BE BACK next year.
I'm afraid Leda's got my vote as well. Like Dave and Barto, this was a another really close match up, and your build had me LMAO. I even think you edged out Leda with the cleanliness of your build (hers got a little visually busy for me here and there). But I also felt like she has you on scale and complexity, and her presentation put it over the top. Sorry to see ya leaving us, but this was a nice cap to a good run in the competition - thanks so much for joining in. Now, hit the showers.
Mr. Swordsman, This was a great head-to-head match-up. Both builders had excellent ideas, builds, and especially photography. In the end, Ms. Kat narrowly earned my vote. Thank you for sharing your take on the category. ~Dave
This is a great entry, and very funny, Dude! Excellent work with the lighting and angles, too. Especially the transport bubbles, awesome! However, I'm going to have to go with Leda on this one because of the scope and complexity of her builds. But good luck with the other judges!
Great job leveling the playing field with your lighting and photography. I think your Abe painting deserves WAY more love, it's fantastic! Good luck if you win, 'cuz I've seen what happens when Leda-Face seeks revenge! LOL ~H
Now then - that Hummer; what a beast! Thanks for showing how you did the suspension/steering. Simple but clever stuff - looks effective too. I'll have to try that! I'm out of the competition now but I hope you're not. Good luck!
Thanks Joost :). Glad you like the updated photos. The suspension and steering was only a bit of fun but it does actually work quite well. I am very please with getting this far so I wont be too disappointed if i lose to Leda. Fingers crossed :)
Second comment as you've uploaded more pictures : Very nice you've added working steering on the hummer!. I also like the storyline (not so much of a line, but that is always the case in Arnies' pictures :-) . I think you made a strong build, and judges won't have an easy job choosing between you and Leda. my vote is for your work, I think the build quality is the same for both, but Leda seems to be more experienced in this kind of work, and that makes you had to ace your work. On the photography side you did a good effort to equal Leda's impressive talent. So: go for it!!!!
You're up against one of the tougher opponents, yet with a build like this, you definitely have hope. The main photo is spectacular. Nice work and good luck!

Sorry dude, being a fellow Kiwi I am rooting for Leda, but on a positive note - this is really funny, all the quirky puns are brilliant. Your use of light techniques will definitely even the playing field with Leda. Great job and good luck mate! ~Thoy

Ha ha! Swarty with never be prez after all that junk, and the fact that only naturalized citizens can be president, funny though.
Thanks everyone :). @ Leda - Hahaha i know what you mean ;). Thanks so much and good luck to you too. The transporter 'sphere' is from the Buzz Lightyear set 7592, its his visor. Oh and good luck tomorrow against the Aussies.
Oh man, you know doing a contest such as this you always secretly hope the other person's moc is a real pile of s... cos then you know you've got it in the bag. But you go and make something this cool and detailed and fun and bring my hopes and ambitions of making round 4 come crashing down. Even without re-doing some pics and adding more as you plan to do this is a fantastic creation. Best of luck :) Think I need a glass of wine...
All I can do is give you my support for what it is worth. I am not that good enough of a builder to even suggest anything to you, but DO keep the pics with the light reflections and the light technics 'cuz you are up against the Mistress of Light! I absolutely LOVE this and it's funny too. (I personally think that Arnie would make a great president.) Very best of luck! :)
Brilliant creation and a funny storyline to boot. I'm glad you stuck with the Arnie theme for your category it seems like most people are steering clear of the actual source of the quote. I Love the Hummer and the Lincoln picture. Just imagine if Arnie was president, that would be hilarious. Best of luck, hopefully you'll be back for round 4 :)
