Well there you have it, I finally made another mech. Taking some advice from Cody G. I started with the legs and actually finished it.
About this creation
The Adaptable Stike Mech, Mark Twelve, is the latest in the 18th DSF's mobile weapons platforms. The Mech itself is coated in durable armor, and has several hard points for modules to be loaded onto. Besides the swapable hardpoints, each mech is equipped with two high caliber machine guns mounted under the cockpit for infantry defense.
The "Humdinger" is nickname given to the standard loadout, do to the distinctive sound of the kits rail-cannon. It is adaptable to most situations, but is best suited to mid range attacks, targeting armor.

The main weapon of this kit, is its Rail-Cannon, which fires high impact explosive charges at intense speed, allowing for great accuracy in direct line of sight.

Like most kits, an emergency exit is at the rear, in case the canopy becomes damaged and inoperable.

This kit's secondary weapon system is a Multi-Mortar, primarily used in assaulting enemy fortifications, or firing from behind cover.

In addition, this kit equips two missile packs above the cockpit, each carrying four anti-armor guided missiles.

The second most common kit, is the "Impact," a long range anti-material load out. This kit is well suited to destroying enemy fortifications and emplacements.

Staying near the rear of an attack force, mechs with this load out attack enemy strongholds at will, and can be easily reloaded/rearmed by support forces out of immediate danger.

As a supplementary weapon, each mech has a high speed anti-armor missile, designed to destroy enemy artillery. In an effort to defeat countermeasures, the weapon is guided by the pilot of the mech, or a central control station on the battlefield can launch and guide the weapon via remote.

The kits main weapon is long range acceleration gun, firing high explosives at distant targets.

To ensure accuracy at extreme range, each mech is given additional targeting systems, instead of another supplementary weapon.

The secondary weapon is a high yield missile launcher. Each missile is capable of penetrating thick defenses and detonating well with the target, destroying support structures and collapsing the target, often in a single charge.

The third most common kit, is the "Incinerator." This kit is a highly specialized variant, designed as a "Shock and Awe" weapon, meant to intimidate enemy infantry.

This mechs are equipped with two massive flamethrowers, each capable of spraying intense jets napalm to great distance. Each flamethrower is covered in thick density armor in an effort to prevent breaches.

The kits secondary weapon system, is a series of sixteen grenade launches mounted on the top, in order to attack enemies otherwise unreachable with the primary weapon.

In the case a breach should occur, immediately, quick release valves on the bottoms of the tanks drain the dangerous liquids quickly to relase pressure, and the tanks are ejected. This often engulfs the area in flames. For obvious reasons friendly infantry are wary of standing near one of these mech in combat, and even out of combat.

The storage tanks on the back slow the mech down noticeably compared to other kits, and block the emergency exit unless jettisoned.

Each ASM-12 is capable of mounting any of these weapon systems, in many different configurations.

I like the MEC, but I have to start with the troops because they are just too cool. Very rough, very mercenary looking. The selection for their equipment (the helmets...perfect), and no brickarms. Schweet. As for the mec, it's pleasing to the eye, and has lots of good features. But I can never get past the notion of putting a glass canopy on what is essentially a surface combat platform. It's like having a windshield on a tank. Make no mistake, it looks cool as heck (and for fantasy, really... maybe that's all the justification needed). But I am hopelessly mired in nagging considerations like: Wouldn't an armored vision block be mo bettah? Really like the troops! Attack! |

The shaping isn't bad. I'm not a fan of the leg joints too much, I either prefer a straight humanoid knee or a straight "chicken-walker" type knee, not both. I think some more color accents would make this model. Also, very nice armament. Overkill is always splendid on mecha ;D |

Excellent attention to detail. I especially love that you took the time to think of multiple weapon configurations, much like how I would expect a real mech would be. |

Excellent build. I love the overall shape (reminds me of a valkyrie/jetfire in gerwalk mode) and the weapons are brilliant. Some very nice upside down techniques. Really like the minifigs too. I don’t really build mechs but I have built some similar things (a jetfire and some action figures), I always start with the hips and legs first. Thanks for your kind comments on my latest car. Don’t fear the stud ;) |

Gorgeous mech! Once the legs are done, the rest seems easy, right? :) One of my favorite aspects of the MOC is the starfighter-like cockpit. It looks like it might be a bit vulnerable in combat, but stylish. |

Wow! The near-studless construction almost makes it look like it isn't even built out of legos! Well done! I really like the interesting new designs you've incorporated into it. I was wondering how that V-Wing canopy would look on a walker-type mech and I now have my anser: It looks SWEET! |

Wow, wow, wow, wow! Wow again! This is just amazing all-around! You did a knock-out job on this, for sure. I think the weapons shot was my favorite pic, and I loved the long-range variant as well. I think my APU-22s would look like little chicks around this big hen! -Ultra |

Now that is a nicely made mech. It has a MechWarrior feel to it, and the modular equipment is topnotch. Although you ought to buff the legs up a little. It looks a tad top heavy. ^Blub^ |
