Experimental LAAT gunship of the 71st special ops force.
About this creation
This is my LAAT /x the x is experimental. it has many changes to the standard RSG's. i always wanted this gunship but getting back into lego now means to much $$$ so i decided to build my own, i hope you like it! i used the online instructions for the base shape and internal structure but used many different elements and design ideas. and now on to the gunship...
here we see the front view, different guns and an added 9mini gun gives it more firepower.
back view with payload ramp closed...
ramp open unloading my mini BARC speeder...
cockpit view, this is removable which we will see later...
cargo/troop bay with weapon storage and BARC...
with the troops... Each side has deployment cable for in-air drops.
my favorite upgrade, the wings and turrets now controlled by droids..
top view from the front you can see my rocket loader and various greebles..
from the back, here you can see the experimental turbo charger feeding secret fuel into the boosters
in this hatch is the targeting computer for the droids and the wing mounted rockets
front hatch open you can see the command center, under it is the medi-droid..
command center deployed, see the doc-droid in storage underneath?
here is my BARC mini style, i like how it turned out..
The cockpit removed which is also an escape pod for the pilot & gunner.
A final pic of the 10 brave troopers of the 71st special forces battalion, led by Capt Rex, followed by the pilot & gunner, heavy weapons troops, bomb squad, engineer, and the ARF clones. This group can handle any situation which may arise and they are at the disposal of the Jedi Order.
hope you enjoyed this creation and please feel free to rate and comment. thanks to lego and you for looking. ~cheers
Nice job just making your own gunship. That attitude is what I have practically lived off of since I have never had the money to straight up buy the stuff. I like your greebling and bonus weapons and compartments. The front cannons look mean and the overall color scheme is great. Well done.
