USS Arizona, after watching a documentary on this ship and with nobody building one i thought it would be a nice ship to build especially with its famous past.just about finished, waiting on tan plates for upper deck but could be a while so here it is.just over 15ft 31inches wide minifig scale,a lot of orders to bricklink for most of the build and my fiancee buying as much lego/megabloks for me aswell, couldnt do it without her,the handrails are black antennas cut down to 2high,thick twine and plastic tubing glued to them, apart from that its all lego and megabloks.hope everyone likes this latest creation it has taken quite some time so far, look forward to your comments, next one possibly the Bismarck, thanks for looking

This is one heck of an awesome ship. It's huge, it's detailed, and it's one of the best out here. Great job on it. |

Yeah, I just have to get the money set aside to be able to buy the bricks I want. In the meantime I'll build it with what I have, then probably order the correct colors and assemble it with the new ones too. I haven't officially started building yet though since I'm still unpacking from moving. I've done quite a bit of planning in my head though. |

Sounds to me like you should add onto the basement, garage or wherever you're assembling and storing these. The Indy was really nice! I threw a comment on there, including ideas to add into the 'Prize', if you ever find the room for it. I'm sort of making a version of the Missouri as well. The major differences are mine will be much, much smaller, the colors won't be correct because I don't have the correct bricks and it will also transform into a custom robot idea.
You can buy pieces on brinklink they stock everything you need.but its not cheap.makes a difference when you don't need to worry about what stock you have left.just go and buy more.i find on this website you get a lot of ideas by seeing how other people make their models.look forward to seeing your Missouri |

The Bismark. Now that was a monster. Yeah, I served on Nimitz class carriers whenever I was on sea duty, which came up to about 15 out of the 20 years. lol I take it you don't move those ships very often once they're completed but, how many people did it take to move them to where they sit now?
I have just started work the Missouri after your idea on the ship that ended the war.my ships are built in secions.the Arizona is in two with the turrets, superstructure etc being able to lift off.currently running out of space so who knows where to put the next one.only ever planned on making one but my fiancee takes a lot of interest and buys all the bricks for me while I,m away at sea.thanks again for your interest.next one 22.7 ft long there about.what do you think of my independence |

Being retired US Navy, I really admire this build. That's an extraordinary piece of history you've recreated and the detail is wonderful. Since this one is considered to be the beginning of the war in the Pacific, have you ever thought of building the one signifying the end of it? For that matter, have you ever thought on contacting the Arizona Memorial and possibly get a commission to build another like this for them to display? It may be a long shot though. thanks for your comment its means a lot coming from someone in the navy,i have contacted the Arizona memorial but son far nothing back yet, never thought ot the Missouri but looking into that,I have been planning the Bismark or the USS Tarawa but its hard to make my mind up,could you tell me what ships you served on,thanks again
