"General Seino, because of your brilliant plan to destroy the Sentai bridges, our skies blacken with aerial drones. How can you possibly refuse the AEGAKS now?" Keiken to General Seino, during a meeting with the Sentai Province Council.
About this creation
ROBOT SHADOW DRONE

While Mecha Nine was the initial developer of the Aerial Drone fighter, Mecha One has made his own modifications and has now ordered the mass production of the completed Shadow Drones. These sleek, agile and extremely lethal fighters have made the skies over the Agricultural Sector thick with black smoke from destruction.

Shadow Drones are primarily armed with twin machine guns, perfect for shooting down human air power and for strafing human ground targets. Shadows do not carry missiles, though they do carry chaff for drawing away enemy missiles.

Shadows are very sleek and aerodynamic, able to cut easily through the air and are highly manueverable. Since they carry AI built directly into the fuselage, Shadows are capable of many turns, twists and other manuevers that human pilots can not possibly pull off. As such, Shadows are very difficult to hit.

Shadows are powered by twin ducted turbines which provide massive amounts of acceleration, making them about the fastest thing in the skies over the Sentai Province. Lost, however, are the variable leg engines that were most noteable on Mecha Nine's prototype.

As with it's predecessor, the Shadow is built using a swing wing design, to allow for maximum versatility. The wings swing foreward against the fuselage for a better speed rating, but less manueverability.

Like Wise, the wings swing back and open for far better agility but at lower speeds. At standard combat speeds, the wings adopt a 3/4 open position to allow for maximum capability.
ROBOT PACKER DRONE (Veteran Variant)

While Packers don't look like conventional drones, these are not to be taken lightly. Packers are the air power which permit Mecha Ones forces to launch surprise raids into the Agricultural Sector. They can provide heavy lifting and reasonable ground support for operations.

Veteran variant Packers can carry for Assault Infantry class Veterans. Each can fire from its suspended harness, and heavy plates of transparent armor lower over the vital section of the veteran's frame, shielding it from enemy fire.

Each of the Packer's 4 heavy Ducted Turbines are indendpantly rotating, and as such, the Packer needs no foreward drive engines. This extra space is devoted to fuel capacity and to a recharger that can repower Veterans returning from the battlefield. As such, the only distinguishable feature between the fore and aft of the Packer is the Drone Eye at the fore.

Packers are surprisingly aerodynamic and produce a small radar signiture, making them difficult to spot. Often, it's more reliable to have sentries spotcheck for the perimeter than to rely on radar. Because of their low impact, these drones can often slip easily past human SAM sites as well.

Packers are equipped with two Quad Gatling Turrets, one at each end of the drone, which give a 360 degree arc of fire. This guns can shred armor in a heart beat, and each double set comes complete with an additional Drone Eye, which gives the drone AI a good view of the battlefield. Once a Packer has dropped off it's load, it circles the battleifeld and provides air cover to the drone infantry.

Once the Packer has offloaded its Infantry, the armor plating retracts inward, giving the more vulnerable belly of the drone some added protection.
ROBOT PACKER DRONE (Infantry Variant)

Infantry variant Packers have had their Veteran harnesses replaced with racks for drone infantry, making them valuable troop carriers. An Infantry variant can carry eight of the new drone Infantry, and about 12 original drones.

While the armor plate canopies don't serve the drone Infantry in terms of protection, they are still a component of the Packer and still function in the same manner. Infantry variants have had the recharger exchanged for a lighter Infantry rated model, and mount extra fuel capacity, allowing Infantry variants to linger above the battlefield longer.

The Infantry rack that replaces the Veteran harnesses. These racks hold numerous hardpoints for the infantry, meaning that they do not have a set location that they can attach to.

The new model Drone Infantry features heavier armor, more efficient servos and a bigger power supply for making raids into the humans' territory. Their weapons also pack more of a punch and can shred human body armor readily.

The new "pack" located on the back of the new model Infantry contains a larger power source as well as housing the rack connecter and recharger port for interfacing with the Packer. These drones are tougher and more difficult to handle than previous models.

Packers most often travel in groups of three, a Veteran variant and two Infantry variants. This means most raid parties consist of 4 veterans and 16 drone infantry. Though it is not uncommon for more Packers to operate together, or for them to be outfitted to carry other types of drones.
CREATOR'S NOTES
Well guys, I hope this is proof that I am neither dead, nor inactive. Just been working hard umping good quality stuff out as always.
Hope you guys like these, and keep your eyes out, because I have a project nearing completion that is going to suck your eyeballs from their sockets!

These are really great. I really like how you modified the the one drone to transport infiantry robots. That was a really great idea. I can just imagine seeing these drones come over a hill side and drop their devastating pay load so awesome
A big part of the war on the humans includes the pyscologicial aspect too. Mecha One like to use tactics that require lots of fear. |

The Packer looks great! Love the versatility of its cargo bay (for lack of a better term). Stallions would certainly have a rough time coping with Packers at low altitudes.
They'd cope just about as well as beef through a grinder, unfortunately. Incidentally, I'd like an LDD of your Stallion if you could. |

Nice work! Like the shadow drone the most and that VTOL is pretty good too, altough I feel a little bit more yellow here and there would make it look even better(but that's just my opinion xd). Oh and to reply to your comment on my gundam. I can't wait to see you build something Gundam related, and I'll check out your AEGAKS builds too!
Thanks, the Shadow is a more complete version of the Tablescrap Aerial Drone I posted a while back. Hopefully here soon I'll be done, but so much to do! |

Awesome as always, my friend. The Packer is very well designed, the four turbines are top notch. Too sad it's only LDD... Anyways, it's a great creation. PS: The new infantry unit look like a Grunt from Halo! Nice!
Yes tis a shame that it's only LDD. But such projects can get very pricy, and LDD is a free supply. And they make good pictures too. |

I wouldn't mind getting a better look at those heavy ground drones.
They're standard Assault Infantry Veterans, just in Mecha One's colors. I posted the design here: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/277383 I have also included a LDD file of the Veteran Basic. |
