UGM-7::Unmanned Guardian Mech
Xenocron Technologies introduces its newest mecha: the Unmanned Guardian Mech 7! Months of work have been poured into this work of mechanized art, and the result couldnít have come out better. The UGM-7 is by far the largest and most powerful mech XT has ever produced, and is sure to dominate the battlefields!
About this creation
Name: Unmanned Guardian Mech [model 7]
Role: Heavy fire support
AI: IUAI-43 (Improved Unmanned Artificial Intelligence)
Powerplant: PAG-1 (Plasmatic Alternation Generator)
Tonnage: 10.0 (Starting weight, stock armor, no weapons)

Head: Guardian-13 Standard Head
Torso: UM-17 Improved Frame
Shoulders: Guardian-13 Standard Shoulders
Arms: UM-14 Improved Arms
Legs: UM-21 Upgraded Legs

The Guardian implements several new improvements we had originally planned to introduce with the UXM-2 (now canceled). One such improvement are the feet. The triple joint system introduced with the TAM-6s worked well, but our engineers werenít fully pleased with the result. After a while refining the style, we came up with a completely new foot, as well as a new way to implement the system. The result, an incredibly durable foot and joint that perform well under any pressure the armoring can produce. Which would be a lot.

Also improved on the Guardian are the shoulders. XT has used the same basic shoulder style clear back to the XT19s, and it was well due for a change. After a few weeks working, the new design was approved and manufactured to fit the frame. The resulting style has proved to be much more usable and adaptable to the situation.

The Guardian is able to be twisted and turned in every imaginable direction. The versatility of the joints allow for this extreme movement, as they are coated with a tephlon/steel hybrid.

Here are a few paintstyles that can be applied to the UGM frame. See if you recognize some from previous works!

My Notes: The UGM-7 has certainly been a long work in progress, but Iím certainly satisfied. I hope you are as well! The link below will let you download the UGM-7 base, complete with a custom starting paint designed for a quick and easy transition of colors for paintstyles. Please comment/rate, and enjoy the MOC!

Heh, if you're still interested in making any custom variants/weapons/whatever, I'm more than okay with it now. :P

Cookies for sure, you've nailed all of them. :) The two in the middle were original paintstyles, just ones I didn't feel like developing into full models.

Hmm, Well, With That Being The Goal In Mind, You Nailed It. I'll Keep This In Mind When Reviewing The Rest Of The Series To Avoid Issues.

Yeah, they seemed reasonable, but I don't generally focus on what will be best in battle, rather what will look the coolest overall.

About The Head, Since You're Making Examples Of The Current Frame, Instead Of Changing The Head's Structure, You Could Add Sensors To The Head To Compensate For The Lack Of Flexibility. I Implemented Such A Feature In A Design Of My Own. http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/80618/1318370047m_SPLASH.jpg

Quoting CBMC Chunkblaster Somehow or another I missed this being posted. I must say I'm very impressed with new mech, especially the new foot design. If it's ok with you I'd like to maybe make a few weapons or parts for it.
I'll ask that you hold off on that. I'd prefer to get a few examples out first before anyone else works with the frame. I'm also planning a contest around it, so I wouldn't want work to go to waste. :)

Quoting Nathan Brainbuilder (gearmaster) Nice! I really like the colors and how you did the feet! For a while I had the silly hope that I was the only one who knew the SNOT technique that an angular 1x1 side could fit the bottom of the 1x1 w.4 knobs. :P Oh well. "there's nothing new under the sun".
Heh, not in the least. XD

Well, thanks to everyone that has given feedback, I appreciate it. It's good to know that the head hasn't quite satisfied everyone, and I'll certainly take that into consideration in future models. :)

Sweet! Even though the head could do with a vertical hinge, I like the way it works with the shoulders. Makes it look like some huge bouncer with huge arms and a squat head.

I'm going to have to add my vote to the "it's great, but the head is a bit simplistic" camp.

I'm afraid I'll have to agree with Andrew on the head. Even if you were to leave it to just rotation, it stops so aburptly, that I thought that it was part of the torso. The body however, is looking good, and the legs are superb. the elbow joint looks a tad off, but that's fine as it fits anyway. Great work on this, and I look foreward to your next revision. ^Blub^

I Feel That The Design Is Fairly Straight Foreword, While Retaining A Certain Level Of Aesthetic Value. The Only Issue I Have With The Design Is The Head, I Feel That You Could Add To The Functionality Of The Design By Making A More Articulated Neck, The Head As Of Now Only Rotates, And I Feel That Allowing The Head To View Above A Horizontal Axis Is A Major Necessity For A Mech. But Overall, I Like Where The Direction The Unit Is Heading, I Look Foreword To Seeing Where You Take This Unit.
