Link to Giovanni & Lennaert Seynhaeve's awesome creation. Sigh.

What are these people lining up for?

Why, it's the brand new HISTORY COASTER! Get your thrills, and learn something along the way.

You get on here. Is that Phippy I see on vacation?

You make a sharp left, than another sharp left

And you eventually end up right above the Revolutionary War part. This features a small group of Colonial soldiers ambushing some Redcoats.

Another angle. Better pics down a bit.

After that, the track takes you to the space part of the ride. This represents modern times, and how far we are along as a society.

The space part of the ride brings you up to a huge drop THROUGH a shipwrecked pirate ship that is somehow sitting on top of a large rock. You speed through the hole, pass the Jousting/Renaissance thing, and you're done. That's it.

Upperview. Note that right behind the pirate ship (the upper left) is the space thing and the tracks. I kinda forgot to take pictures of that.

Giant rock thingy.

Overhead view so I can show how big this damn thing is. I think it's 72x144.

View from the front. Again, note the Gray MOC in the upper corner, the space thing. YOu can kinda see the track from here.

One last shot of the cars. I really like these due to the simplicity.

This is my favorite part of the MOC. I spent most of the time on this, actually.

I like this, too.
FROM HERE ON OUT, IT'S JUST PICS OF THE INDIVIDUAL PARTS. NO COMMENTARY.

All that hard work, and this is what it amounted to in the end.

Well, I have NO misconceptions about how this one might end. Thanks all. Gio + Lennaert, your entry rocked.
See ya guys later.

Love the idea! Might have gotten a bit more excited about history as a kid, if I'd have been on this crazy thing! I think the passage through the ship is particularly nice. But, like the other judges Gio gets my vote. Don't feel too bad, though. As good as Gio's creation was, you gave him a run for his money with this. Sorry to have ya hit the showers, but a good entry to go out on! |

Gio and his boy are a formidable team, but you fought the good fight. I like your idea with the History coaster, obviously playing to the strengths of your fig collection, a wise move. It's a solid build and quality entry, better luck next year.~H |

I had this category, too! good try, but the turns are too sharp, and there's no way the carts would stay on. I like the scene's- especially the ship. good luck! |

Nice construction! You built a great park! The pictures look a bit confusing but I like it anyway! |

Excellent idea, and all the sets look great! However, it's not as tied together as your opponent's build, so he gets the nod. Sorry, Chief! |

What a really great idea! Would be a great destination for a field trip at school. Love the way it smashes through the ship. I'd ride that! |

Mr. Monkey, I think you have an excellent idea here, a history coaster is a good take on the theme. The pirate ship is particularly wonderful. In the end, Gio's concept was a little more unified and he received my vote. Congratulations on a well designed entry & good luck with the other judges. ~Dave |

Your pirate ship rocks! The rest non-historical parts are a bit bare, but the main parts are quite fleshed out. One question: how did you get those bent pieces?
I assume you mean the tracks? Well, they're these thingys for pirate ships that you climb on... It totally slipped my mind what they're called.
Anyways, I bent them. Blasphemy, I know. |
