MocOlympics Round One: Chas Irish vs. Ryan Degener
The 2nd round of the MocOlympics. The Category was Dirigible
About this creation
2011 MocOlympics

My Opponent's Creation: Ryan Degener

Category: Dirigible - An airship that is lighter than air and stays aloft due to an envelope of gas which is less dense than the surrounding atmosphere. Examples include balloons, blimps, and zeppelins.

The Tree House of Eugene Smith, Boy Genius

The tree house

Eugene's newest invention

The landing pad

Comentary:
I wanted to make something a little different than just a balloon. So I decided to make a balloon the way a kid would, and with the materials he would have to do it. That means an old tattered sheet, and the platform being an old raft. The tree house was just extra, to add to the effect

I hope you enjoyed it!

I'm in agreement with the others regarding the typo in the title. I also like the effort you made in the build itself to go beyond just the ship, and incorporate additional elements and story - all of which were nicely executed. You've got my vote as well - that's a sweep. Well done!

Congrats on moving on, despite your minor 'oops'. A quality entry and it would have been a shame to see you miss out because of temporary brain flatulence! LOL Good luck in the next round.~H

Quoting Dave Kaleta If you do change it, you will be DQed. It's up to the other judges how much your mistake in titling influences their decision.
Ok, thanks for the heads up

Quoting Dave Kaleta Mr. Irish, You had a very conventional take on the category, however you executed and presented it well. This judge does take into account all of the rules and while I'm am not in favor of disqualifying any players on the basis of procedure, you failed to title your creation properly as a Round Two entry. I did take this into account as part of the judging, yet you still have my vote. ~Dave
Thanks, sorry about the title. Do you want me to change it now, or is it too late? I'm not sure what you're saying, am I disqualified?

Quoting Wes Pitter Why is the word "category" so hard to spell? I almost spelled it catergory earlier, and I just saw it as cathegory on another page. English is so weird. Oh, and nice job. I love the back-story to the build.
Lol, I spelled it right in the description, I was just typing too fast when I was writing the html for the page. Thanks!
