Birthday creation for Awe's 18th Birthday (the day after this creation is posted). Happy AFOL years Awe! Also one of my longest-running projects, probably due to a delayed bricklink order...
About this creation
So this tank is built for the Coalition of Planets theme, which is a main part of the 23rd Century universe. Awe once told me that one day he'd like to build a Coalition tank based on the Warhammer 40k Baneblade tank, because this is a very 'CoPish' style of tank build. So I went ahead and did just that...
The tank is 32 studs in length, and 18 in width. It is armed with a main 140mm gun, and a 21mm cannon (next to the main gun). The main gun uses an advanced chambering system and a 'magazine' of shells to fire at a rate of 70 rounds p/m if necessary. Just one of these 140mm high-heat rounds could easily put a similar sized enemy tank or mech out of action, so you can imagine the devastation of 70 per minute.
The tank features working treads, and an interior (nothing special, and there are no hatches so to access the interior you have to remove the turret), and the gun can rotate 360 degrees and be elevated to around 30 degrees vertically.
Ok, so MOCpages apparently hates about half the pictures I tried to upload, so you'll just have to make do with these for the time being:

more details. Those two cylinders in the middles are some sort of external fuel tank I guess

Opening hatch on the top for the commander to sit in

Thanks for looking!

Heres my re-comment. Good hinges and angles. NPU on the front, back, sides, and tank head. The rest seems a bit bland, though. 4/5! |

The design is amazing! The color scheme is not very military but it works for me, the details are also done very nicely! |

Really great selection of parts. The rapier, barrels on the back, and everything around the hatch is really catching my eye. |

I dig those tailights. And the cilinders. And the turret. Hell, the whole tank, to be more succinct. Great work, as always. |

Ooh, boy, I wish this was on Flickr! I would definitely fave this one! You've captured the congrous shape and styling perfectly, by which I mean it's all angles rather a mix of angles and curves, which tend to clash. The use of the box for the commander's seat is inspired, and I just LOVE the sand blue on the side. Only thing I'll pick on: *external* fuel tanks? As in, "come on, just one bazooka shot"? How about cooling system? :P 8/5 Keep on brickin'!
Oh, it is on flickr : http://www.flickr.com/photos/46590237@N08/6194714510/ :)
And good point about the tanks, I guess they will be a cooling system of some kind then.
Thanks for the feedback everyone |

Great tank! Makes me wish I had that many smooth plates in light gray. It looks very well suited to the COP-theme. Especially like the use for the fencing foil as antenna. |

What I said on Flickr doesn't really carry across just how awesome I think this tank is. You knocked it out of the park with this one, I think. As long as I can send 71 tanks at you per minute I should be good. |

The back end of the tank is amazing! I love how you were able to get a look like that. The backpacks on the end of the turret are quite a nice touch as well! As mentioned below me, I'm glad to see you are still MOCing. Can't wait to see more. - KP |
