Some kind of a modern take on OV-10 Bronco or something like that.
About this creation
This is my first MOC, and I hope you'll like it. Some time ago I saw Ultramarine's IAF A-1 Mungusi , and since Bronco is one of my favorite aircraft I got inspired to build my own version of this COIN airplane.
It is a single seater, so the pilot will wish he had three hands, but I just couldn't fit the copilot anywhere. Wings were a big problem for me in the beginning and eventually I settled for a short version of Lego 5892 alternate model's wings. Front wheel turns making steering available and in case you were wondering what is that round orange thing on the back of the fuselage, it's counter-measures dispenser. :)
The main picture shows complete weapon layout and the one below shows picture of the aircraft in flight... sort of.
I don't know how to put some background image and LDD didn't make a screenshot with the background for some reason.
Landing gear is up. Front wheel had to be removed, I found no way to make it retractable.
Weapons layout for precision strikes. Four laser-guided bombs, targeting pod in centerline and two short range heat-seeking missiles on wings for self defence. Drop tanks on wings are included in all layouts.
Weapons layout for all out carnage. Six general purpose bombs, two unguided missile launchers on wings and a gatling gun (lets say 20mm caliber).
"All missiles away", the line spoken by Tau pilot from the video game Dawn of War seems appropriate here. Three unguided missile launchers, two heat-seeking missiles and two cannons (30mm).
Cockpit details, notice the HUD. :)
These last two images are a bonus. They represent civilian version which is included in the file.
About the specifications... Check the section about OV-10 Bronco on Wikipedia, boost the engine power, speed and range a bit and that's about it.
Kobac is Serbian word for Sparrowhawk if anyone was wondering. Please comment and let me know what I can improve. Feel free to use my creation however you like, just give me credit for it.
