Ah, itís been 3 years, but my favorite project has finally met the light at the end of the tunnel! Early in my LEGO building career I attempted to build an 18-wide replica of Rod Millenís record-breaking Pikes Peak Toyota Tacoma. I scrapped the original project due to lack of parts and now Iíve brought it back from the dead. Now that my skills are nearly twice as good as they used to be and my parts supply is much greater, the truck has been completed!
Now, about the truck: The Toyota Tacoma Pikes Peak was custom built by Millen Works Racing to compete in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in the Unlimited class. It pushes nearly 850 Horsepower from a small engine and is equipped with turbocharger and nitrous injection. The Pike Peak Tacoma is a legend of the mountain and claimed victories in 1998 and 1999.
About this creation
Top front view.
Rear quarter view.
High angle rear view.
Engine cover removed. It definitely resembles a truck more without it, but it's necessary for aerodynamic purposes.
The body removes cleanly from the chassis. Here are all the sections laid out.
Here is the frame. it may look like a truck on the outside but it's got the inner-workings of a LeMans race car!
Another shot of the chassis.
Interior. It's kinda cramped and I'm not exactly sure how Rod Millen gets into the real car...
The engine and exhaust. Menacing!
Side view. It may just be 1 stud too long, I'm not sure...
Side view with engine cover removed. The engine cover is hollow, which was quite an achievement in my opinion. The bar across the middle of it is just for added strength.
UUoooW The Afol's car builder dreams comes true! I love how you made the detach, it seems a RC real car. You make me inspire to make my SilviaS15. I go fast to dissambly my MClaren!!! ^^Congratulations and thanks for share this marvel. 10/10 !!!!!
Nice. I think this is the first Pikes Peak Toyota on MOCpages. The detail is nicely done I could tell its a Tacoma from 30 feet away. Im thinking about building a 6 wide version.
I like it

Whoa! The bodywork is great with all of it's louvers, vents, and shapes, but the chassis.... well the chassis is absolutely AWESOME! It has loads of detail in the engine, roll bars, etc.....the only thing I dont like is the wheelbase, it just looks one or two studs too long. by the way, congratulations on the hollow engine cover. Great work, 5/5! :D
Awsome! I love this car for Hillclimb/ Trailblazer in dirt. You also just gave me inspiration for a R/C car body. I have been thinking about making one for a while now and I think i know what im going to make for the body. This or a Celica.
