Ah, it’s been 3 years, but my favorite project has finally met the light at the end of the tunnel! Early in my LEGO building career I attempted to build an 18-wide replica of Rod Millen’s record-breaking Pikes Peak Toyota Tacoma. I scrapped the original project due to lack of parts and now I’ve brought it back from the dead. Now that my skills are nearly twice as good as they used to be and my parts supply is much greater, the truck has been completed!
Now, about the truck: The Toyota Tacoma Pikes Peak was custom built by Millen Works Racing to compete in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in the Unlimited class. It pushes nearly 850 Horsepower from a small engine and is equipped with turbocharger and nitrous injection. The Pike Peak Tacoma is a legend of the mountain and claimed victories in 1998 and 1999.

Incredible build! This is one of my favorite off-road vehicles, and you've done an amazing job of capturing it. I really like your layered build approach on this as well. |

Nice. I think this is the first Pikes Peak Toyota on MOCpages. The detail is nicely done I could tell its a Tacoma from 30 feet away. Im thinking about building a 6 wide version. |

Whoa! The bodywork is great with all of it's louvers, vents, and shapes, but the chassis.... well the chassis is absolutely AWESOME! It has loads of detail in the engine, roll bars, etc.....the only thing I dont like is the wheelbase, it just looks one or two studs too long. by the way, congratulations on the hollow engine cover. Great work, 5/5! :D |
