A carrier designed long ago when I began my long running RolePlay with my Fiancee. Now seen here for the first time!
About this creation

Nysta Class Carriers were the backbone of the Old Alliance's fleet, providing the sheer numbers in starfighters that won the Systems War in the end. Long since the Old Allince went defunct, these ships are still highly praised and sought after through the centuries, due to their high-technology that made them so feared in their day.

These massive ships could easily carry 120 fighters, 36 bombers, numerous scout craft and shuttles. What the Nysta Class lacked in offensive capability was more than made up for in its carrying capacity.

Old Alliance ships used sophisticated Armor Tiling, armor plates that connected over the hull like a shell. The plates were easily removed and replaced for repairs, making battlefield repairs go much smoother and faster.

Here is a view of the bridge and the port observation deck. The Nysta Class Carriers did not mount any heavy weaponry, meaning it had to rely on escorts to provide protection against heavy ships. However, the Nysta Class were very well equipped to handle starfighters, having 64 inpendant launch tubes for anti-fighter missiles as well as a network of AA guns along the hull.

Nysta Class Carriers were powered by two massive Magnetically Channeled Reaction Drives. These drives sipped fuel and provided massive acceleration at full burst. The ship was relatively nimble due to an interior mounted network of stabilizer gyros that could rotate the ship.

FTL, or Stardrive, was achieved by generating a tachyon pulse and then aligning the ship with this pulse to create the effect of a railgun, which would propell the ship along it's path. Each pulse would be followed by another pulse until the intended destination was met, and then a single reverse pulse would bring the ship to a halt. Stardrive could reach average speed of 2.3 parsecs an hour, but the longer the jump, the faster the average.

Located on the dorsal section of the Nysta Class hul is a massive Comm relay that can also double as a Electronic Counter Measures array. Nystas served as the Comm center of the Old Alliance Fleets, allowing them to stay in touch, making these ships highly valuable on the battlefield.

Here we see a Nysta Class Carrier being hit by a large Beam Weapon. These were, however, minority weapons, as the weapon of choice during this era of time was a lethal psuedo-crystalline energy projectile weapon, commonly called an Effector. More will be discussed on the Effector weaponry on the next Old Alliance Update.
CREATOR'S NOTES
Well guys, this one brings back lots of pleasant memories. I've had the roleplay going for almost 6 years now, and I have enjoyed every minute of it. Hope you guys enjoyed it as much as I have!
Credits to Thomas Z for the idea of showing melting armor by coloring the bricks orange. Nice one!
There will be at least two more Old Alliance updates, so keep posted.

Great design, with so much detail in it. Wanna trade build-instructions?
Thanks for the feedback! Unfortunately I rarely make instructions available, even when I can access them, which is currently not the case. I do apologize. |

WHY OH WHY DO YOU MAKE EVERYTHING EXPLODE! xD
I like the design. Maybe MORE BIG GUNS on your next one haha.
Because I like big BOOMIES! Besides, sometimes you gotta blow up a few eggs to make an omelet. |

Dang rabid somehow or another I missed you posting this beast. Excellent work my friend as always, really like the color scheme and the line of turrets in the middle.
Ha ha. If you think that this is a beast, wait until I post the destroyer... Oh dear, I've said too much. |

Wow, Rabid, now THAT'S how you do a capital ship! I'm glad that your fiance has mutual interests with you about role-playing and LEGO. Now all that you need to do is to build this thing in real life. Oh, and one other thing. Though this isn't related to your MOC, there is now a LEGO Star Wars Mad Libs out there if you like that sort of thing. I had a lot of fun with the old-school Mad Libs back in the day. I figured that you and your fiance would like it, too.
Well, we do definitely have the roleplay in common, but she isn't into lego. She tolerates it, tolerates it very well mind you, for my sake. I don't push it though. She did however approve of the Old Alliance ships I have completed. |

So... You RP with your special someone too? Anyhow, great work with the build. I'd really love to see this in brick format, but it's just as cool in LDD. |

Glad to see you're alive my good fellow! Great ship, your skills with LDD are superb and improving each passing post... Cya my friend! Say a hello from me to Dari!
I've been busy my friend. Lots of things to do, work, my projects (which are really involved), and preparing for my Fiancee to visit me soon. I got a ton more stuff that I'm about to drop, but it'll be a tad while longer. |

Nice design! The photo editing really added a nice feel as well.
Thank you. I've gotten a good grip on how to achieve the effects I want to now. Hopefully I'll be able to do more sophisticated edits in the future. |

Hey Buddy I haven't seen ypu on here in a while. This ship is awesome. Looks really sharp. The colors wprk great and the details are right on point. An excellent build. Hey question for you. I'm looking for some good websites to get backgrounds and landscapes any recommendatons? Again fantastic job.
For the backgrounds, I recommend using only free wallpapers, unless you get permission from the artist. Just Google "Free Wallpapers" and the subject you want, for example: Space. Then click the images tab and viola! You'll probably have to pick through them though. |

Excellent looking carrier with a nice color scheme! The gif animation is superb! how did you upload it so that it works? Also thanks for giving me credit, I'm glad someone else used it too, and in a totally different theme as well!
Thank you for showing us that idea! I plan to use it alot more. As for how to make the gif work, I uploaded it to Brickshelf and then created a picture link here, like the one that MOCPages generates, but I replaced the source lines with the deeplinked image from Brickshelf. |
