Cody and Rex (Moodland Scale)
So, my inner Clone Geek presents itself! I've said time and again that I'm an Original Trilogy fan all the way, BUT I'm also a sucker for the Clone Wars (most of the time)! In celebration of the new season coming out, I thought I'd try building the 2 most famous clones in Phase II armor: Commander Cody and Captain Rex! If you've been on Flickr and/or the Eurobricks forum, you will have seen these guys in WIP form. It's the first time I've ever posted WIPs, but, I'm glad I did. Many who commented gave me some great ideas/suggestions, and I don't think these would have turned out as cool as they did without others' help. Many thanks to Dr Happybaboon, Legorevolution, Waffle Bread, and a few others. As always, please RATE and COMMENT:)
About this creation

The backs of the helmets look horrible, but it's the only way I could get the right pieces to attach.

This is the first time I've ever used stickers. I ALMOST busted out my sharpie collection!

Alas, poor Battle Droid, I knew him well!

This is my 3rd redesign of the Battle Droid at this scale.

Where is the instructions, the how-to, and the parts list for Cody and Rex moodland scale figs?

THIS is my favorite creation by you, Rex is awesome. But just from one Star Wars geek to another, why does Cody have an E-11 opposed to a DC-15s? Oh... wait, I just noticed that someone just said this.I agree with arik lego.

Quoting arik lego oh wow, this is great. I especially like how you did Cody. my only complaint is the way you did some of the blasters. Rex's are fine, but Cody's looks more like an E-11 (Stormtrooper blaster) than his DC-15s. and the battle droids' blasters? hmm... I dunno, an oversized DL-44? :P probably if you took the scopes off they'd look a bit more accurate. (though frankly I think Cody's blaster is amazing even if it's somewhat incorrect) great work on this. I have to say, you're probably one of the best builders on MOCpages as far as Star Wars MOCs.
Wow, thanks for the compliment, man! You're right: Cody's blaster is completely incorrect. I didn't realize till after I built these that Clone Trooper and Storm Trooper blasters are totally different. D'OH!

Quoting Commander Hawk This is surely outstanding !!!Would u mind if I could use this method for any possible future Moodland Scale projects? It's really awesome and quite admirable.I will see if I could do a smaller version of this,to economize bricks!.
Thanks! You're more than welcome to use my designs/ideas. Just give me credit. Also, I posted instructions on how to build a Moodland fig you can check out.

Quoting Mr. Black impressive Moodswim, very nice work as always. I have a HUGE favor to ask, as do probably alot of people who admire you as a builder. Could you make a tutorial as to the technique used for the figures? I know some parts of it but im unsure as to the "skeleton" to make my own figures, think you could help out?
Thanks! I have been meaning to post a how-to for this scale of figs with a parts list, etc. Since you asked, I will make it my next post.:)
  September 27, 2011
Quoting M<0><0>DSWIM ! Thanks! I didn't realize that brick was called a quadruple earling, but, yes, that was the piece I originally wanted to use. But, like you said, it prevents the front (which is obviously more important) from working. A triple earling, as well as a round 1x1 tile, would solve alot of my problems.:)
Wouldn't they for us all.

Quoting Matt David Fantastic! I really enjoy this scale you've niched out for yourself so well.

Quoting Matt Mason Phew, you nearly betrayed yourself and all of us to the darkside when you mentioned your sharpie collection. Now, like you, I'm not the worlds biggest clone wars fan (Stormies are way cooler), but I can't deny that this is a great setup!
Thanks! I just mentioned the sharpies for comedic effect. I actually don't own a "sharpie collection".:)

Quoting MCLegoboy ! If only LEGO would just stop the suspense and give us Triple Earling Bricks that way our Moodland Scale Clones could have helmets with backs. I was originally going to ask if you tried a Quadruple Earling, but that presented the front from working. I can't think of anything that would work.
