Echo Bracket Category: "You Must Be This Tall..." The objective was to build an amusement park ride, so I unimaginatively chose to do a roller-coaster! Or a segment of a roller-coaster in this case; I didn't quite have enough pieces to build the entire thing. This creation took some thinking outside the box, so hope you enjoy (especially you judges)! And if at all thus inclined, please don't hesitate to rate and comment!

Hey, I think I found Indiana Jones in the back seat... ;) Great MOC! The wooden architecture is really stellar; it seems to perfectly convey the amusement park feel. Also, there's a nice sense of building action... that feeling you get in your gut right as the cars slide over the drop--excellent! Congrats on MOTD! |

Since everybody in MIT are already seeded, the game basically becomes a MOC-off, i,e, you vs. Timinator. And since both of you have already posted, the judges can go ahead and cast their votes. Mr. Bones has started voting in his region of responsibility. While we can wait until Oct. 5th, you could just imagine how much we have to deal with especially in R1 with the number of entries. BTW, the vote here is very close. My vote against you does not take away from the quality of this MOC.
Good point! Thanks for clarifying, sorry if I came across as complaining. Yeah being a judge must be hectic at times! I can only try and imagine...thanks again! ~Ian |

Well, my first time at judging, and it is not easy... But it is going to have to be yours, I love the look of the track, and the wooden coaster reminds me of one I road at a now closed amusement park. (I think it has become offices. The land was worth to much). But yes, vote to you. |

Having very similar builds does not make it easier to judge. Both builds are excellent and stayed true to the category. While Ian's is more finesse and have some close to real-world construction techniques, Timinator's build captures the ride experience better IMO. Unfortunately, I can only vote for one. My vote goes to Timinator.
Thanks anyway for the comment. Your right, Tim's does look fun to ride, I just did the best with what I have. That's where a lot of builders could beat me, because I have a small collection I can't do builds the scale of his due to lack of pieces. But enough pity party. Thanks again for the comment and good luck to Tim! (By the way, I thought voting didn't start till the 5th, did I read something wrong, just wondering?) |

Quoting The Timinater !
funy thing is, i am also (unimaginatively) doing a roller coaster as well! LOL! this is a great design! I love the figs- also a lagre part of my entry- love the guy who lost his lunch! I actually laughed when I saw it! the cart is somewhat plain, but the ramp is on a great angle! best of luck (but you're still going down! [jk]) kos you're gonna need it! (jk)
Thanks! I'm looking forward to seeing your technique. Roller-coasters aren't too easy to build, let me tell you! If it looks identical to mine though, I might have some questions. I was hesitant to post first. (Ha ha ha!) Best of luck to you too! |

AH! This is awesome! Actually one of your best creations! The sides of the coaster are AMAZING, same with the chain and the use of those quazi-ladder/railing pieces a track. And although the cart seems to be taking some flak it is plain and boxy, cause guess what, Wooden Coaster cars are...plain and boxy! It looks just like a roller coaster car. I love the figs too. But I feel sorry for that one guy. Not even over the first hill and he's already revisited that chili dog. Ugh. Nothing wrong with this one Ian. Just awesome! |

Brilliant! I love the part usage! Tim's a friend of mine in real life, so I'll be waiting anxiously for the result of this one! Good luck! |
