Hello folks! And welcome to the final "LOTR Trilogy Contests" MOC of Honor; for the Return of the King winners! This is your host Ian Spacek, and today we're in the caverns of Mount Doom! Here is where the great quest of the Fellowship was accomplished and the contests draw to a close. However before I say anything else, I would just like to thank everyone for their patients as this contest has dragged out way past the original ending point. So thank you all. Now let's get to the awards! As usual all of you did a stellar job and majorly improved since last time. The final scores were close! So give yourselves a pat on the back!
About this creation

Alright, here are the Return of the King contest winners:

In third place we have...

Mark Murphy! For his terrific micro entry Orthanc (to the actual scale). Well done Mark!

In second place for his fabulous entry: "The Beacon of Gondor", we have Mark E. Another Mark! Hey, I could use some sunglasses like that in here. Very well done sir!

And finally in first place (drum roll please) this contest Ring Bearer Award goes to...

That's right folks he's back (yet again), The Fisherman! For his utterly incredible entry: Shelob's Lair! Extremely well done my friend!

Oh by the way, be careful not to drop that Ring because if you do, this place is going to erupt! No pressure or anything.

How about a big round of applause for our last set of "LOTR Trilogy Contests" winners! Well done guys!

Here is a shot of just the build: The Caverns of Mount Doom. This is where Frodo (with some help from Gollum), dropped the ring into the fire and destroyed the evil lord Sauron for good! Oh dear it's not 8x8 again, you'd think I'd of learned by now!

Closing announcements: Well this concludes the three part cycle of "LOTR Trilogy Contest". At the moment I'm not sure whether they will become and annual event each summer, or if I'll do something else entirely. We've partnered this group (the biggest Lord of the Rings contest on MOCpages) with "Fellowship of the Brick" (the largest Lord of the Rings group on MOCpages), so it shouldn't be to hard to stay tuned and learn what's going to happen next. Once again thanks everyone for participating and I look forward to seeing you in whatever is up ahead. Could you also give our judges for "Return of the King": Michael Kringe, Paul Vermeesch, Adian Flynn, and Adian Moon, a big hand of applause. Thanks a ton guys! And that's a rap!

GO FISHERMAN! Great job on taking the gold(pun intended) again. :) Totally agreed with the verdict. Although I couldn't post this time, I really loved the contest Ian. Hope to see this contest re-emerge at some future date. And great MOC-of-honor. Love the lava. Congrats to all the judges thoughout the contests and good work to all the contestants. I could see the MOCs getting better as the contests went on. Again, great idea Ian. 5 stars for the vig. Too bad you can't enter it in the contest. How dare you not do it on an 8x8. We should kick you from the group.!!!! :D Cheers!~Christopher |
