The finest car ever made in 1:8 scale...
About this creation
A builder new to MOCpages, Barney R, is building his own big Citroen DS, using mine as a reference. Trouble is, he can't see it right now (broken pics since the crash..) So here it is again.
The only change to mine since it was built is at the front - I thought the lights on Barney's looked better, so changed mine.

There's lots going on under here - I won't dwell too much on the technical aspects - Barney has all that taped on his (including pneumatic suspension!). What you see here is a four cylinder engine, driven by the steered front wheels through a three speed transmission with column change, driving lights that turn with the steering (approximately twice as much as the wheels - as on the real thing), independent suspension and some green bits.
Hang on, didn't I say I wouldn't dwell on the Technics... oh, well.

Everything opens...

Interior with blocky dashboard. My late model's dash is blocky in real life, too...

A close-up of the bootlid hinging - it's sprung to stay open as well...

Overall view - the form isn't easy to replicate - it tapers towards the rear and pillars and panels all incline inwards towards the top...
And those are still the coolest indicators ever fitted to a car...

déesse- The goddess, magnificently recreated in bricks. Love this. Absolutely love it... The headlamps were one of the main features on the DS, and you've managed to make them turn. Now that is serious brick engineering. Thank you for showing us a model of this quality. |

Nice one! They feature a lot of Citroen cars on BSG back on Caprica. Recognizable as cars, but not familiar to the North American audience. We've got some of these still kicking in VT, and the occasional Peugeot. How about building a Renault LeCar rally version? |

Lego for legos sake, a beautiful creation ! The car that had pioneering suspension, and you`ve done, by all reckoning, the same job. Love the engine too !>.....well done |

Oh yes, the "Goddess". For me it's one of the best looking European cars ever. Just like your 2CV I've alredy been looking at these pictures many times, but never written a comment - shame on me! ;-) The shaping is awesome, especially having in mind the many curves in all directions on the body of the DS. The working Technic details are great, too. It's definitely one of the best big Technic models on MOCpages :-)) |

Thanks for going out of your way to help somebody out. I still remember you helping me out with your technic based roof method. |

A really good car, I mean that. It looks like you used almost only older LEGO parts too, I'm surprised you managed to achieve the look you did using such old parts. I am particularly impressed with how the car seams to curve around toward the front and back, is that a camera trick, or is that just good brick work? Really like the car man, don’t know my European cars very well, but this one sure is nice.
No camera trickery, it's all bricking. |

This model will allways be one of the top - mocpages-car-mocs. I think you do a great job by helping your fellow DS-builder though, his model is going to be something also. |

Definitely worth a second posting. The shaping of the front bumper and around the head lights is simply stunning. |
