Another what-if warship. The Bishkek class destroyers were built for the soviet navy between 1940 and 1942. They were the successors of the destroyers of the Tashkent class, with improved firepower and range, at the cost of size and speed. The new ships were also better protected and very comfortable for the crew.

They were inspired by the large contre-torpilleurs built for French Navy and developed to fight the nazi Type 36A destroyer class (armed with 5 150mm (5,9) guns). The Bishkeks armament was housed in three enclosed spliterproof and weatherproof turrets in A, B and Y positions. This was a significant advance over the open mountings used in the previous Project 7 ships. The B-2LM turrets were introduced in the Tashkent and proven successful in service but had no anti aircraft capability.
Anti-aircraft armament comprised two 76,2mm (3) guns in a twin mounting in X position, eight 37mm guns in double 66-K mountings around the rear funnel and sixteen 12,7mm (0,5) heavy machine guns in eight double mounts. The ships also carried three sets of quadruple torpedo tubes and at least 80 mines.

The ships from this class were also design to escort the Sovetsky Soyuz battleships during their oceanic missions, thanks to the very large fuel tanks and the heavy armament of guns and torpedos. However, only 4 Bishkek ships were completed during the war, and used to escort the only complete Sovetsky Soyuz battleship.

At least two ships were sunk during the war. After the war, the surviving ships underwent a lengthy modernization in the early 1950s before being relegated to roles as training or target ships in the late 1950s. They were scrapped or expended as targets in the early 1960s.
