I couldn't. I only had one day to build that week, and no guarantees I would have more later (which in fact I had, unexpectedly). I built during the night and early morning, shot in the early afternoon, got to work and posted in the night. A circular base? That would have been a great idea! Beyond my skills, though. I never sold this short, it is indeed my best city MOC yet, and I put 8-9 hours in it. Any problem thus resides in my City skills :)

Yuri, I appreciate the direction you took with this MOC, however, knowing that the judges were going to wait to deliver their verdicts meant that you could have spent more time on the build rather than trying to beat the field to your idea. The technique for the crater is good, but I feel you could have achieved the same effect by simply leveling the tiles. Perhaps if the base of the MOC was circular with more cracks it would have been more effective. Thank you for sharing your take on the categories. ~Dave

I really hoped to get this kind of comment. You see, the MOColympics are mostly about being forced to build outside your comfort zone. I could have made a big BioMech with a big flamethrower for "fire", but what would be the point of posting a Bionicle now? If a City MOC won't get me through R1, it simply means I would have been doomed the instant I got a City-related theme (which is my worst, in fact I only have one City MOC, and it's this one). I don't know what you're talking about. My pages are full of those :)

some unexpected color scheme. The crater is an idea to keep in mind. Overall a nice job. But you might have used some hidden Bionicle part just to make it more your MOC ;-) I´m happy your in MO 2011!

I read somewhere (from El Barto, I think) That they will judge at the end of the round, not like in MOCathalon where the entries are scored ASAP.

Thanks, they are a restyling of an old techinque. I used the helmets 'cause I don't have big flowers. It depends. Did you comment here because you liked what you saw, or just because you wanted someone to comment on your MOC?

Yeah, me too. In fact, it was the very first thing that came to mind reading the list. I went with my instinct. There may have been many more people that thought about it, but at this point, it's already old news. What did they say about the Fox and the grapes? That was one of the MOCs where I saw it. Yet the movie was so incredibly bad that I couldn't bring myself to leave a nice comment. The other MOC I remember was a kind of hangar where a ship crashed into a wall. Do you remember it?

Excellent use of benidng metal! But although that is a clever line at start, the "twist" is far too obvious. I thought of using it, but figured it would look like I'm trying too hard. At least you made it funny.
