After a long hiatus - Version 4 of the Gallofree GKR TwinSun medium multi-role freighter. Focus on new improved and very sturdy retracting landing gear, plus a new secondary retracting loading ramp. I do hope you enjoy the updates

About this creation

It's been a very long time since I updated. Been only able to scratch out an hour or two a month, and had issues I absolutely had to deal with with this. The below are both. One was something I just had to fix, as it was a real problem.

So alas - the below two shots are dullsville. all landing gear, all the time. There is really not much to look at with the landing gear. I may post a vid of retraction/extension later. right now take it from me that it retracts about 7.5 studs in height. not too much, but just enough really to keep sensitive bits off say the innards of some giant space-worm.

And a close up shot showing the slide mechanism. I had problems with all my prior landing gear in that it just really wasn't strong enough without at least 5 drops, and I was absolutely positive I wanted this ship to be a tripod. Again, hope to strip it down to the frame and demo the works later when there is more light outside.

Shot showing the new access hatch closed. Couldn't believe my luck when I found they had these domes in white. then I started trying to build with it. Blech. Floppy with just one pivot point till I used the hinge, and it is still not great

Another new item. Wall mounted speeder-bikes. Specifically the 07 Ithorian ABY speeder collection. I should have dropped one down on the wall mount so you could see the lift mechanism, but I was running out of light for the shots. Constant issue in the pacific northwest.

Focus on the hallway. Interior space is awesome. Hard to imagine how much there really is in here. You can if you look super close see a custom R2 astromech down the hallway.

Slide mechanism for the ramp. I'll be covering this later with reverse stud connections. I want the ramp to look like it more or less just comes from nowhere.

Amazing. I love ships like this. Do you have any tips about building ships? I have a nice design for my own ship but I'm still experimenting with landing gear and the boarding ramp.
