The idea with this page is to keep something of a journal for the construction of my first large scale MOC, General Grievous' Invisible Hand.

Looking at others' creations, I often find myself wondering how long it took, how difficult it might have actually been, and the steps involved. So I thought it might be fun to post some "progress reports" as this lengthy, and expensive creation trudges along...we'll see if I survive the process! (Also, there's always the hope that it may serve as a personal reminder to me never to attempt something so ludicrisly elaborate and difficult ever again. Although I tend not to listen to myself when stirred by some creative delusion of grandure!)

So anyway, here goes a bold attempt at what may amount to nothin'. But then again, as Ferris Bueller said..."Only the meek get pinched. The bold survive!"

March 12, 2007: So I'm off and running...The goal is to go no-studs, or at least as few as possible. I started with the dorsal portion at the front of the ship, calculating a length of approximately six feet. As the sides start to develope I'm working in blueish grays. However the color scheme I've chosen will eventually see the first portion of the sides in black...

(cont)...The nose and darker grays throughout the ship will more than likely be all bluish gray (although I'm considering mixing in old grays for texture). The lighter grays will be a mix of light bluish gray and old light gray to provide the subtle striping that occurs throughout the length of the ship.

She's gonna be pretty. Be sure to post your progress reports as separate MOCs so it shows up as a new MOC.

I await the next progress report with relish... From what I can see thus far, the final result will be nothing short of awe inspiring - persevere my friend! I myself am accruing my lego supplies in order to attempt a similar project - the USAC EVENT HORIZON from the film of the same name..we both must be stark raving mad!
