A large 12v era train station incorporating features typical of original LEGO-models of the time.
About this creation
I started this awhile ago - a thread following the complete build can be found here and includes many pictures of the build in progress and of the interior of the buildings.
I wanted to build a nice large railway station in the style of the 7824 and other track side structures of the era. IMO, all LEGO stations always lack in one department, namely size, so I wanted to do something about that.
There are four tracks, two in each direction. The platforms are labelled 1 through 4 and are connected by a walkway. At the end of the middle platform is the control booth from which the station manager controls all the switch points and signals.
The main building consists of two parts, the right area has a phone booth on the outside, and contains a luggage drop-off and two ticket windows. The left side has a waiting room and a small restaurant. There are additional waiting rooms on the other platforms.
The station has a total of 11 light bricks and 4 signals.
This is an absolutely brilliant creation! So well done. Congratulations on all your hard work. Too bad it had to be taken down, but hopefully you will rebuild it again someday!
