My Hogwarts Express
About this creation
I wanted to make a Hogwarts Express that looked more like a real steam train and that could run on a track. This is my first (and maybe only) original Lego train, and I had no idea what I was doing, so I ended up just combining the Emerald Night With the Hogwarts Express to make one beefy train, shocked to see no one had already done this. I wanted to build this without buying the Emerald Night and thought I had the parts to do it, I was wrong. I ended up with several expensive Bricklink orders. I've never really been a train kind of guy, but after I put together set #4841 Hogwarts Express I was in love, and just wanted to make it move. Now I see why trains are so cool.

I know, it ended up more as Ruby Night than Hogwarts Express.

Smoother, more life-like, and more greatly detailed than the set, all around a much better piece of work.

Oh and lengthen the tender by about 2 or 3 studs and try to put 1 more train wheel base under the tender. The Hogwarts Express has a 3 wheeled tender.

Very good try for a non-train collector. But im sure you could use some tips from someone who is train collector. The Hogwarts Express was a thinner train than the Lego Emerald Night. I mean in boiler width. Also the front of the boiler should have the small 4x4 dome. not anything bigger. Another thing, the tender is a bit too fat and tall. The top of the tender should be a bit lower than the roof of the cab. So just to make everything shorter, Keep the 8 wide, Change the boiler from 6 wide to 4 wide, and shorten the tender. But it is still good for a first try. And I was thinking of doing this before.
