Its been a while since I actually built anything as ive been lazy, but I decided to have a go at a more realistic style ship and this is the result. Its part of a large display of at least 12 ships which im building for a Spanish Armada display which I will be taking to various Lego shows. This is the first, an English Galleon from the Elizabethan era, hence the reason why there is no ship's wheel. The next ship will be the Elizabeth Bonadventure folled by the Golden Hinde which I should have built in the next month.
The profile-shape of the wooden hull is perfect and captures the essences of the shipbuilding technique of that era. The sails and the rigging are very realistic. I really like the extra detail put into in the rear and the deck; however, I would have liked a photo with a closer look at the front of the ship.
Yet another beauty from you Luke! If I was doing the water, I would've added a little wake a light blue behind the ship, but that would just be a small touch up to an already incredible creation. Well done!
Thankyou all, this ship is a permanent moc as I bought all the parts especially for her, so I won't be taking her apart. That means I can always take new photos, so yes, I will take some of the front as I forgot about that. There are guns, you will see them when I take some shots of her in battle with other ships.
Thanks for your great comments everyone! I suppose I havn't really been lazy, just been in one of those moods where you want to build something but cant get yourself to actually sit down and start anything. Plus summer is a busy time for me doing other things, winter is when I build the most.
This is absolutely stunning. Especially the decoration (on the ship and on the display likewise) caught my attention. What a beauty.

Simply gorgeous. I really like the use of the "teeth" plates in dark red and dark green. They add a really nice dimension to the ship. Also, are those custom sails? They look immaculate! Brilliant work.
Beautiful ship- that whipidea is very original- too bad there is no golden whips to use for decorations.... i have one ship under construction but since mocpages has been bit unstable lately i haven't posted new mocs, maybe i should post some soon since this looks to be bit more stabile now....
I saw this on eurobricks, and I thought it was amazing, but I didn't have an acount there, so I thought I would comment here! Amazing work!
It looks beautiful! And nice piece usage for the whips! Is the boat connected to the water or just on top of it?
Maybe one day I will build as nicely as you do!
