I was recently inspired by some of the tree contests entries and decided I wanted to make a lego tree. I settled with a weeping willow because it is one of my favorite trees and because not a lot of people have made lego weeping willows. Enjoy!

Not quite big enough for a willow(they're HUGE), but I admire your attempt. Accuracy: 17/25 complexity 15/25 Creativity 35/50 total 67/100. Thanks for participating!
I agree, it isn't very accurate, but perhaps it is a sapling? I actually just saw a sapling weeping willow a couple days ago. Anyway, I was going to make it a lot bigger but I ran out of pieces :( thanks for the nice comment though. |

Judges Comment: Great entry! Accuracy: This is OBVIOUSLY a Weeping Willow. 24 points. Techniques: The trunk Idea is very clever, as well as the trailing branches. It looks very stable. Although it obviously can fit on an 8x8 baseplate, It never appears on one in any of your pictures. But that will hardly effect your score from me. 23 Points here. Originality: very original. I love the trunk technique. 47 points here. Unfortunately, I am going to deduct 3 points because of the 8x8 baseplate. Sorry. That's a total of 91 points. Thanks for entering, and I look forward to seeing you in round two! |

This is a great looking tree! I love the Weeping Willow too. Did you know the Latin name is Salix babylonica? One thing i noticed about the base (other than it looking cool) is it is bigger than 8x8, so you may want to change this before the contest ends?? Good luck with the contest, i have added an entry too :)
I was hoping no one would notice that... I'm just kidding :) I read the rules after making it and I asked Max if it would qualify and he is fine with it, though I will double check on that. |

I CAN'T SEE THE PICTURES!!!!! AAAAAHHHHH!!!!! I'm not sure if the other judges can see them either. I really would like to see your entry, and I can't place a score if nothing can be seen. Maybe reload them?
Since the pictures are being restored cronoligacally they will be up sometime soon, if they aren't up soon I will reload. |
