About this creation
Well, my first serious castle moc since my Dark Ages ended didn't set the world onfire with it's awesomeness. Who knew? I was trying to go for that classic castle set look except with angled walls but...oh well.

This is why I build space!

It's ok if you wanna leave without making a comment, I wouldn't either.

Oh the photos are bad? Yes, crappy mocs deserve crappy photos.

I'm not pouting, you are.

Tried a cheesy roof but ran out of cheese.

Sigh.

Yay, I can finally see SOME MOCs. I think it fits well into the Castle line-up of the 80's. It has a nice nostalgia quality to it. Give it another go buddy!

I think you're being too hard on yourself here. Sure it's not a castle like Barad Dur but it's not nearly as bad as you make it out to be. I see it as kind of an outpost building where the guards have all they need. Too bad you couldn't have finished that cheese roof but what you do have isn't bad either. In short, even though you're not happy with it's size, I think the ladies love it... oh wait, are we still talking about the castle? ~ Chris.

Not bad, much better than the castles I've tried to make. Too bad you're cheese roofing ran out.

Following up on the conversation with you and Dave, I think castle works in two ways: either very small - as in micro, like you mentioned, or HUGE, like you see with Bob Carney's work. While there are a lot of cool dio's that function well in minfig scale, an entire castle in such a scale needs a ton of brick (I couldn't believe how much Minas Tirith took!). Having said that, though, I also say don't sell this one short. You've got some nice height variation and some sweet angles here to make it more than "meh."

I like it, though, the earlier roof design was better with the black cheese slopes.

Quoting Dave Kaleta Regardless of result, the attempt is still worthy of comment. The arrangement of the different shapes is interesting; maybe if you tried again at a smaller scale (like with your 'futuristic houses') you'd be more pleased with your product.
Thanks Dave and everyone, I think micro is the way to go maybe. I was so imspired by the Brickworld LotR stuff I bought a heap of bley bricks afterwoulds, sadly this is all ! came up with. Well, gotta start somewhere.

Shannon, with these skills, I am surprised Chris and Mark didn't give you Minas Tirith. Actually though, this is pretty cool. It has a nice shape to it.

I like those doors a lot, and the roof looks good.

Very classic grey mate, I like the simplicity here, touches on Legoland sensibilities. A nice fun small Moc, sometimes these are the most fun...

I think you are being to hard on yourself. It has a nice simple look. Not all castles were grandiose.
