Aku, the Shapeshifting Master of Darkness
Long ago in a distant land, I, Aku, the Shapeshifting Master of Darkness, unleashed an unspeakable evil!
About this creation
But a foolish Samurai warrior wielding a magic sword stepped forth to oppose me.

Before the final blow was struck, I tore open a portal in time and flung him into the future, where my evil is law! Now the fool seeks to return to the past, and undo the future that is Aku!

"AKUUUUUU!"

"Hahaha! FOOL!"

Note #1: I really, really LOVE Samurai Jack. A while back there was a rumor about a movie directed by JJ abrahams, but as it stands I still long for a finale... sigh.
Note #2: About the stonework, I tried a first "classic" version with slopes, but it looked so much like the original stones from the cartoon that Aku looked lame by comparison. This blocky look suits the vig's style better.
Note #3: Jack is only shot from the back 'cause he's wearing a lab coat. I don't have better here :D I didn't find a better way to make him geta (or is it getas?).
Note #4: the background in the main pic is just a photo of the sky near sunset.

Quoting Johann Dakitsch Amazing!Shape is near-perfect, the problem to me is the mouth, but I have no clue how that could be done on this scale. Samurai Jack was one of those cartoons that helped shaping me (also, my drawing style derives a lot from that), and its a pity it doesn't ahev an end. Gendy Tartakovsky(whatever the hck it is spelled), the creator, still sais there'll be a movie, but no one knows when... There's also some negociation for a live-action adaptation, but I don't know if I would support that...
A LIVE ACTION Samurai Jack? That would kick axe! If done properly, of course, but doing theings well is one of the many limitations Hollywood has.

Awesome! I used to watch Samurai Jack all the time! Your Aku looks really good and the opening pic is amazing! I also rebuilt Rennoc and he looks completely different. Nearly everything on him is custom. Once he is up, I would like your advice if that is possible.

It's just the way it was drawn in the show: a sharp silhouette.

I LOOOVE SAMURI JACK!!! And this is a great vig of Aku! The face is a bit wonky... maybe it's the eyes...or the lack of lips on the mouth... but Everything else is pretty sweet. :D

Quoting Mr. Xenomurphy I'm not familiar with the show, but after your MOC, I might have a look at it.
After you do, let me know how does this compare, will you?
Quoting Sebeus I Very very nice, It only misses a green line to mark where his mouth closes, other than that it's brilliant
I tried, but I couldn't really make it work on this scale.

Quoting Max W. well, im not a 90's child, and i sure as heck know what samurai jack is! (although i never watched it) does Aku really have that cartoon-y expression in the show?
Well, being a cartoon he was left with little choice on that.

Quoting Chris Phipson Sing along everyone! Gotta get back, back to the past, Samurai Jack! I liked that show too but wasn't able to follow it for long... did he ever get back to the past and fix everything? Nice build Yuri! ~ Chris.
No, the show was unexplicably suspended at the peak of success. Also, I don't think hel''ever in fact go back: he made too many friends in the future who would be erased from existence if he did (let's not get into time paradoxes right now).

Quoting kitty slayer Ahh to be a 90's child. Now those were the good ole days. This show is one of many that made my childhood amazing. I think this particular show is a little bit older for a lot of mocpages generation, but i'm sure they'd recognize shows that this ran with such as rugrats and catdog.
Good for them, I wouldn't...
