How did you do the grafitti.
It was done using SNOT lettering. If you are not familiar with this technique, you can Google 'LEGO Advanced Building Techniques' and find the free pdf. file that explains it (with illustrations)and other cool, useful techniques. This particular one takes a lot of 1x1 and 1x2 plates, tiles and some cheese slopes, especially the first one.~H |

Hans what with all the name changes?? Couldn't figure out who the new awesome builder was... Thats what I get for 4 months of hiding... ~Thoy
Hahaha, another victim! LOL It's just a temporary thing; I occasionally get a wild hair up the ol' you-know-where and goof with my name. It started as a bit of a spoof on the overwhelming number of 'Commander Awesomesauce of the 69th' that are found around here, but now it's just fun to find a funny, obscure name from sitcoms that I enjoy (though this is rapidly becoming my favorite). I guess that deep down, I'm just as bad as the kids! =P~H |

Wow you have an amazing collection of varied mocs. I also like to build in lots of different themes but yours are all really good. I have this book too he is a very clever artist. I live in bristol so i have grown up with his art. Excellent snot techniques to make the writing. Glad you like my firebird :) |

That monkey picture is already set as my desktop background, haha. I would like to see the doughnut one in LEGO, that would be pretty funny. You might want to fix that link to his book, though. |

I think I see what you mean, the graffiti isn't MEANT to be graffiti; its not meant to be showy like most graffiti.
On a different note, that picture of the chimps running the government (or something) under, "indoors" is pretty funny, I think I might have to try to replicate that one day.
Yes, not showy, but thought provoking.
The chimps are great (I wonder why you like that one LOL) One of these days I'll be able to do the donut truck with a police escort, my personal favorite.~H |

The Graffiti is nice, but it lacks the... Graffiti look, if you know what I mean... I suppose it's all you can hope for with Bricks. I bet it was hard to get it to look exactly the way you wanted.
Thanks, but it's 'street art', not graffiti. It's about the overall picture, not the lettering. I recommend 'Exit Through The Gift Shop', Banksy's documentary about street art or even visiting http://www.banksy.co.uk/ and you'll get a better understanding of what I was going for. =) ~H |

Did anyone else noticed that wall on the "no future" pic is a little slanted to the right? Really cool effect.
You're close...it's actually the other way around; the sidewalk slants to the left. Unfortunately, the angle of the shot kinda takes away from it, making it easy to miss. Thanks for noticing!~H |

Great stuff. I'd love to see a city where graffiti are allowed, if I didn't know that 90% of the walls would become covered in "mural" publicity and propaganda, and the rest 10% by the usual axle holes writing unpleasantries or just scribbling their nickname (and that's 90% of today's writers). |

This is Awesome! And a great concept! I'm from Bristol, Banksys home town and I must say we have wall art everywhere including a lot of iconic Banksy art. We do however have a lot of wall crap where people think it's cool to just "tag" their street name wherever they please. I might have to try my hand and some Lego wall art. Thanks for sharing and the inspiration :)
It is ad when mindless tagging destroys true art. Banksy did a time-lapsed piece, first showing the blank wall, then with his work, followed by the subsequent defacing of said art by jealous twits until it's all but gone. =( Now THAT should be a crime...~H |

Good stuff, man! Wouldn't have known of him if it hadn't been for Exit Through the Gift Shop, which was hilarious and the humor is well-represented here. Once aghain I find myself noticing your astute attention to detail, for example the hypodermic lying on the ground in that back alley not all-to-far from the hobo. LOL!
Actually, that is also how I was exposed to his work; it's both a funny yet scathing insight to the art world. As for the details, especially in the first scene, I wanted to capture some of the irony in his location choices.~H |
