Previously on I Choose You!, Jaeger and D arrived at the Mt. Moon base, defeated the guards without raising the alarm, and read the entry riddle to get into the base. Leon arrived at the island hideout, but arrived at a locked door. Caleb was able to infiltrate the island hideout, but after a rather explosive battle with a scientist, he likely alerted the rest of the base of his presence. Thus our story continues...
About this creation
Caleb: I'd better hold onto these Pokeballs, Charmander might be in one of them.
Caleb: I'll just put them away for now, I wouldn't want to get caught up in another explosion. Best to wait until I'm in a tight spot to open them.
Caleb, certain that somewhere more Team Rocket members are looking for him, runs down the hallway to find a safer location.
Coming to a new hallway, Caleb hears the footsteps of quite a few people coming from the left. Certainly that would be a more exciting path to take, but extremely dangerous. The path to the right seems quiet.
Jaeger: This riddle makes no sense, what attack has a periodic element in it's name?
D: Here, let me. I went on vacation to Johto last summer, they have an attack there called Iron Tail. Which means... a-b-c-d-e-f... 65... The answer is 232665.
The doors slide open with a metallic grinding.
Jaeger: Nice! You're a very resourceful girl. I'm glad I stuck with you instead of that hothead Caleb. Seriously, it's like he's some Lord of Fire or something.
As the two trainers go down the hallway, the lighting goes from an industrial orange to a cool neon hue.
D: There's nothing in here, it's just a closet.
Jaeger: There's another hallway over here.
D: Well, obviously we should go that wa--
Jaeger tackles D into the supply closet.
D: What the heck was that all--
A Rocket grunt walks by the hallway, apparently oblivious to the two tresspassers.
D: Thanks for that, I guess. I think I jammed my wrist...
Jaeger: Better a jammed wrist than getting caught in a Rocket hideout.
D: What are you doing? Looking for cleaning supplies?
Jaeger: No, this.
D: A wrench?
Jaeger: Just in case. I hear some heavy machinery off to the left, this might come in handy.
D: What about the right side, there's gotta be something that way or that grunt wouldn't have been heading there. Whatever we do, we can't get caught.
Leon: The door's locked, but I bet they have the key.
The Rocket vehicle on the horizon slowly gets larger, and Leon can make out two figures on board.
Leon: Come on, Kingler, I'm going to need your help one more time.
Kingler grunts with acknowledgement, but it's clear that it wants to go back to its trainer Dave.
Leon: Just this last favor, Kingler.
Kingler surfs to the vehicle and Leon throws a Pokeball.
Leon: Go, Eevee!
Eevee is sent out, but the Team Rocket members have their own Pokeballs.
Grunt 1: Go, Krabby!
Grunt 2: Go, Magnemite!
Leon climbs up to do battle against the second Rocket grunt while the first climbs down to battle with Kingler.
Leon: Eevee, use headbutt!
Eevee strikes Magnemite, sending it floating backwards, but the strike didn't seem to damage the tough metal armor on Magnemite.
Magnemite returns the gesture with a Thundershock. Eevee, with no armor, is more vulnerable to the attack than Magnemite and writhes in pain.
Rocket Grunt 2: Keep zappin' him, Magnemite! Don't let up!
Leon: Eevee, hang in there! Knock Magnemite into its trainer!
Eevee, still writhing in pain, hears the command and struggles to get up.
The iron-willed Pokemon manages to get to its feet.
The electrified Magnemite collides with its trainer and shocks him, sending him backwards.
Leon turns to look at Kingler's battle. It seems to be doing fine on its own.
Rocket Grunt 1: whimper...
Eevee jumps down to the Grunt and tackles him off of the vessel.
Leon: Ah, here we go. One card key.
Kingler, seeing that it is no longer needed, starts to head back to the mainland.
Leon: Let's see what's in these boxes.
Leon: Dang, locked!
To be continued...
Okay, choice time! Remember, if you aren't in the CYOA, you can't make the choices. Only those who are in the CYOA can choose for their characters.
Caleb: You are at a fork in the road, with imminent danger to your left and possible safety to your right. You can...
A) Go left and battle at least 3 or 4 enemies (dangerous)
B) Go right but throw one of the Pokeballs you took over your shoulder in hopes that the Pokemon will slow Team Rocket down
C) Go right but hold onto your Pokeballs.
D and Jaeger: There is the sound of heavy machinery to the left, and relative silence to your right. You two don't have to go in the same direction. It's left or right for you two.
Leon: You are now in control of a Team Rocket vessel. The containers are locked, but they may contain useful items, or even Pokemon. You can...
A) Go into the Team Rocket port that the vehicle was heading towards, possibly facing hordes of angry grunts and alerting the whole hideout of your presence (dangerous)
B) Go to the small dock you were just at and enter the door without raising the alarm
C) Find somewhere safe to find out how to open the containers
'Jaeger: Nice! You're a very resourceful girl. I'm glad I stuck with you instead of that hothead Caleb. Seriously, it's like he's some Lord of Fire or something.' You actually can't beet that quote can you?
