Amazing job! This is one of the best castles I have seen on the pages! I plan on making a castle sometime in the near future and I was wondering if I could use a few of the techniques that you used here? I will give you credit of course. Oh and I love the design for the goats and the fence!
Thank you! And have at it with techniques! |

As many of the others here have probably already stated I cannot help but love this Creation not that I have any reasons to try and not! My favorite theme displayed with amazing detail! Only confusing note is the modern chefs in a Medieval but overall I love it! 10/10/10!
Thank you! As I had told someone before, the cooks are there more to show that it is a kitchen. When people(or at least I) think of a kitchen, I think of cooks. |

I liked EVERYTHING in the castle. Good job. Nevertheless, I'd like to share my opinions and suggestions: 1) My favorite parts were the ballroom and the dining room. As I said on Flickr, the wavey-brown-pieces were an excellent idea. 2) Next time you make an order on Bricklink, get a bit of dark brown tiles, and maybe not-reddish brown as well to make the floors more interesting. 3) Try to add more 1x1 round and square pieces to improve the road's texture. (like Leda's recent MOC, I can give you a link) 4) Usually (in my opinion) medieval houses can be a distraction when placed near castles, unless they have extraordinary architecture (like Medieval Market Village). If you want to make two houses, make a good, interesting one with interesting techniques and architecture, and another house which will be just a building with a purpose (mill, smithy, chapel... Classic-Castle.com has a lot of ideas). 5) Try to make more clusters of plants instead of scattering them unequally. Also, don't use the bulky City trees. They look really odd when combined with brick-built trees. 6) I can see that you've put a lot of effort into it. You built a great castle, I can't wait to see your next castle. PS: try to "invent" more new techniques, build your own brick-built animals and look at medieval contraptions to make them in real life. It's much more interesting, and also satisfying to the builder. |

I didn't notice the racial diversity before. Nice detail. If you want to emphasize that your fantasy realm has no racial issues, put more trolls, ogres and orcs between the humans, and maybe even give them a certain profession (orc blacksmith or a troll chef). Anyway, I enjoy reviewing MOCs (especially good ones), so I'm the one who should be thanking you. |
|
|
| AA (Noname) July 20, 2011 |
Congratulations! Anyway, if you need some trolls the battle pack would be the best set for it. It's pretty expensive on Bricklink (about 35$), so I suggest trying eBay or buying individual troll heads and hands on Bricklink (just them, to reduce the price), troll heads are pretty cheap. Also, a troll (the huge one) is a must-buy component of a Castle collection. I have to get myself one of these. |
|
|
| AA (Noname) July 20, 2011 |
...Deus warned me that the troll is a 'big plastic fail'. Just thought I should tell you that. |
