I missed this while I was away! Bloody brilliant man! The details are brilliant as always, but.....how does that ship float with no hull?
"a ship is more than a hull and sails, what the black pearl really is...is freedom" (somehow I feel there's missing a part of the quote :P) |

And one more thing (this might help you determine the classification type for the Queen Anne's Revenge): did you know that it was actually a former French Naval Vessel named La Concorde?
The real hystorical Queen Anne's Revenge yes, but the fictional from POTC is nothing close to the real one I believe.
I think I determined the class, an indiaman (that's a type of galleon) which is actually obvious since the QAR was built on the base of the Black Pearl.
I want to build the real QAR sometime, atleast what I believe it would have looked like :P |

Haha, thanks about the mini figures and the brig. The cheese slopes look nice too, I was just wondering what they were doing floating around in the water. I will be posting some of my creations pretty soon. This was a great inspiration :) |

Cool. I wonder how many mini figures can fit in the brig. Also, in the 3rd photo, I noticed some cheese slopes in the water around the Kraken. What is the purpose of those cheese slopes?
Hmmm, I'm not sure, I'll try fitting in as much as possible and let you know :P
The cheese slopes were an early idea on water waves but I now realize that they don't work very well. |

Quoting swash buckler
by standards of early 18th century
You do have a point here, however the primal cannon power of the QAR is situated not on the upper deck but the lower deck, (the actual gun deck). Also the QAR was built on the Black Pearl, which isn't a frigate either.
Though, I suppose this is a useless discusion, POTC QAR is a very unique ship, I think it's best just not to categorize it :p |

Nice way to do Kraken and about frigates- I know what you meant but you are wrong about QAR not being frigate by standards of early 18th century- you confuse it with napoleonic era when frigate term was redefined but during era of real blackbeard frigate meant ship with one full batterydeck (that was real QAR)- POTC-QAR has only oversized stern but it is frigate in fact (having only one batterydeck) since those terms were not so clear at the time- but anyway real QAR probably had smaller stern but it was not napoleonic frigate any more than POTC-QAR but at those days "frigate" meant different thing than we now usually think it means because term received new meaning during napoleonic times..... |

yes, the jail door opens a bit awkward though. |

:O Love it, but the coolest part must be how you made the water higher than the bottom of the ship, and used sloping pieces to do that! |

I love the tentacle design. Do they move, Sebeus?
not much, they curl a bit in one direction but they can't grab a minifigure for example |

Love it saw it in a blog a couple of weeks ago, however wish there was another view of the mouth, Just to see it from another angle
The truth is that there's not much to see beside that which the pictures already show. The Kraken is quite a messy creation :S |

Wow! I clicked on this thinking it would just be a photo of Jack and the Krakens mouth. The detail in this set, Just like every other of yours, is just indescribable. The krakens tentacles are nicely done, and it makes my brain hurt thinking how you made the mouth. It is to bad that this is just a section of the ship because if you made a whole black pearl with that much interior detail it would be even more amazing. This is by far the best Kraken set I have seen. I have complete confidence that you will win the competition! |
